Well the mod has changed into a game, and so the official "Site" on ModDb has changed URL's!
http://www.moddb.com/games/snatcher

I had planned for a BIG June 6th update! I missed that date...
I've been pretty busy, but I made time for a little update

One of the new members to join our little "Team" is Musician "OtakuDee"!
You can check out some of his work here : http://soundcloud.com/digitalbloodlinemusic
For now though you should give a listen to his version of "Pleasure of Tension" that he did for the project!

Also, "TheSyndicate" is also making progress with the "Snatcher" model, as the body is slowly being created...a "work in progress"...
There's also artwork from SpoonyBardess, and a tiny update to the old JHQ map...Street Lamps, Spotlights etc.

ENJOY!

It's so awesome. Alot of progress has been made since the announcement at the beginning of this topic 4 years ago. Not to mention that the last picture you posted of Junker HQ shows just how much progress has been made and polish applied in even that much time. It's beautiful *-*

Oh and that pleasure of Tension remix is pretty cool. :) b

Awesome. This remake is the best tribute a Hideo Kojima game can get.
Snatcher is a haunting, breathtaking and unique game and it deserves something like this.
You're definitively achieving the best results while keeping the cyberpunk-atmosphere of Snatcher intact.

I know, it's still WIP, but do you have any plans of how the gameplay should look like?

There's something I'm curious about... and this model (obviously WIP so anything could change) doesn't answer the question...
Which version of the Snatcher will your naked bioroid models be based on? The PC88/MSX versions seemed to have more "Realistic" human qualities such as their left eye but later versions toned this down so it was more robotic, not to mention the Sega CD version adding liver spots so they looked less like terminators. Will there be variety?

A VERY good question actually...

There are major differences between the PCE/SCD, and PC88/MSX versions artwork and designs for many things like the Snatchers etc.
I don't want to spoil any surprises, but as far as the Snatchers go my modeler was given the PCE "Blueprints", only recently did I inform him of the SCD "green panel" additions, so they aren't added yet. I'd personally like to feature a variety though, but it's up to my modeler...maybe we can convince him? lol!

Hmmm...I should have known it was Nanomachines! lol!

Well I busted more ass-off on some work!
Here's a look at the UBER WIP "Flight Tests" with the "Black Turbocycle" (aka VTOL variant), so ENJOY!

NOTE: Currently both "Drivable", and "Flyable" Turbocycles are seperate vehicles..BOOOO!!
There is also the "Player Model" clipping through the vehicles backside...I know it sucks and looks dumb, but I haven't fixed that yet.
There are no sounds, or particle effects etc. for the lights, hovering etc. just yet.

I will have to do some programming to combine both vehicle entity types and have switchable "drive" modes at the press of a button.
Its a MAJOR/important bit of work that has been sitting on the backburner for forever! Now its slowly nearing completion!

This will be the last update for quite some time...so savor it for a bit lol! :-#

It would be nice if the player could find the locations on his own, without the fast-travel or "move in that direction" marker bullshit. For example, Metal tells you the address of the abandoned factory, then you look at the map of the city, find the address "M District, blahblahblah" and move right there.

UPD: Here's a really roughly made sketch.

I support TechNoir's idea. I prefer when games don't hold your hand like the later Elder Scrolls games. I want to be told where to find something and search on my own! Please consider it, it would be wonderful!

@TechNoir + hikage : There was a reason I made the "Turbocycle" drivable/flayable, and designed bigger maps...lol!
*I thought this was made clear in the videos I've been posting of the Turbocycle? I guess not lol!*

@TechNoir : I made many sketches like yours on the subject (and others)...maybe I'll share them sometime?

The main issue is that some people don't want to "Manually" drive/fly, and some like us want to.
In the original game it was %100 "Auto-Pilot", and took you to the location, and parked you in front of where you needed to be.

I want "Auto-Pilot" to be included for those who don't wish to drive/fly on their own (like the original).
I want to have to find the locations myself as well, so for that I want a "Manual" drive/fly option.

In the original game they mentioned the "Turbocycle" has BOTH features (in the Turbocycle over-run section).
Currently it's %100 "Manual" drive/fly for the "Turbocycle" though, because I haven't programmed any features lol!

The other problem is that it would basically mean one "option" gives the player more "help" than the other (auto = more "help").
Of course any Snatcher fan could randomly drive/fly around and find the locations, since we all know what they look like lol! :-"

You could also have a simple "turn off markers" etc. type option(s) in addition to "Manual" and "Auto" drive/fly modes.
There are many gameplay related issues I've been considering/related to this, as you can see if you think about it.
I mentioned something similar about the "Turbocycle" in the "non-linear" Snatcher discussion/thread. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3051

It's an issue I'm still looking at, so I'd love to hear more opinions on the subject. :-k

I thought this was made clear in the videos I've been posting of the Turbocycle?
My Internet connection is so bad that I can't even watch HQ pictures, not to mention videos.

BTW, I'm studying 3D animation in my freetime, so possibly one day I will help if I won't be too late.

No worries man...we can't all have great internets...lol!

I post all over the place, and it's something I've been trying to cut back on...
So the details I thought I'd made clear may be in other post/forum/site etc. lol!
That is why I appreciate questions, and mostly answer them here

Well 3D animation is a good start!
I'm really looking for highly skilled, Character Modelers/Sculpters, Rigging Artists, or Programmers with heavy CryEngine 3 SDK experience.
I cover/handle most of the work on my own besides a few things (which I have an amazing little "Team" for), so additional "help" will only speed the process up, since progress is slow.
