Where has the Shadow Moses Island website gone?!
Hi all
It's been ages since I posted, been working a lot and dealing with a whole heap of problems (Live Publishing, the people who printed Retro Gamer magazine, which I freelanced for, went bankrupt taking 3 months worth of both mine and everyone elses pay with them).
Anyway, I was looking for the Shadow Moses Island website, the one with the massive collection of rare images... and it seems to have dissapeared!
Please tell me it still exists, that was the only site I knew of that had such a well organised collection of images, including rare stuff like MGS wine.
I actually wanted to email the guy to ask if I could use one of his images... but it seems to have vanished.
Does anyone have an archive of his content? The list of merchandise alone was cool.

James has disappeared off somewhere (university presumably) and so probably hasn't renewed his domain for the past couple of months. I'm sure the site still exists and will return eventually.
If you don't want to wait, the Wayback Machine seems to have archived almost all of it:
http://web.archive.org/web/200408130442 ... /home.html
(from October 2004, however, so it won't have everything).

I don't know if he'll answer either of them, though. He's not been on MSN for a while, at least.
If you can't get all the images off that link, try the same page on different dates:

I took the liberty to erase his e-mail addresses from the previous post. I wasn't going to answer here, but I should now.
the addresses were removed for James' privacy, you can check the one that is public at the backup from his site. He is currently not accessing his accounts or the net, just give the man time to finish what he is doing and let's hope he posts the site again after that. He has a full backup of it, so no worries.

Try not to disseminaty questionable information Pal. he has not sold anything since august. And that was just a non Kojima related item. And nothing else since december I believe. Of cousre the possibility is taht he didn't sell them with his normal login, but otherwise I wouldn't believe he sold his stuff.

Sounds like Shadow Moses James. He's often unbearably smug.87th wrote:He used to be a bit of a spammer on the UK.PlayStation.com forums, insisting he had a friend at Konami who told him all the plot and gameplay details of upcoming MetalGear games, and that he drew a lot of the better MetalGear fanart, himself.

He once told me that he would probably win against a bear in a fist fight, even if his hands were made of soap, and that the MGS3 that exists in his head is much better than Kojima's effort.Rick Deckard wrote:He is talking about Chris from hideokojima.net. Thats James having a laugh, i could list many more things like that but every single one is him messing around, its just his sense of humour, James is very different to Chris in many waysRick Deckard wrote:He once told me that he would probably win against a bear in a fist fight, even if his hands were made of soap, and that the MGS3 that exists in his head is much better than Kojima's effort.

No, he was being serious. He even sent me a piece of artwork he'd done of a large bloody bear cowering under a mountainous soap-handed figure, with the caption "King James III Beats Down The Bear."
I misread that as 'Christ,' and was about to say that James doesn't agree with you there...randomwab wrote:James is very different to Chris in many ways

He had his reasons
Hi this is Chris aka SolidSnake1mgs.
As some may know ive ditched my old site and created from scratch www.hideokojima.net
Like most of you im sorry to see Shadowmoses go. But he has said to me at least his reasons.
After MGS3 was released he swore to stop collecting and as many of you have guessed he's moved on to bigger better things. He hasn't sold his collection tho, but recently he's buying early 90's Videogames....on ebay
As for spamming, im sorry if I did I was 15 then, im more mature now as im 22.
I still collect but its Z.O.E stuff and with 8 items left im so close...
I go on mgsforums every once in a while but between daily updates to my site and work its hard to find time to have a lengthy conversation

Im back again
As some of you may have noticed Palax0000 is selleing ALL James's items so thats sad to see...
Also I got on rather well with James for a long time, I've always been a serious person thats just my way I guess But I love Kojima Games and so did he, we all have our opinions of the games but thats what makes it fun and entertaining to chat to each other about.
As for James hating me I'd be surprised, like all of us as soon as he went to UNI "PUFF" we never heard from him again...
I just completed Uni myself it was hard work but worth it,so I can see why he never emailed since,
When you have a life & work it leaves sadly very little time to work on a website, email and readily take part in forum chats. I know myself first hand all to well...
If you want to reply to this please do I would like to chat to you guys...

Yeah... The James I know wrestles hot lesbians, and feeds his pet goldfish babies. Either way, I miss that guy too much. *in a manly buddy cop way, like Riggs and Murtough* We go way back too, to the academy training. He makes even Charles Bronson look like Richard Simons.Osiris wrote:Is anyone else getting kinda tired of this guy "speaking" for James?

I'm not dead or anything, and don't think I've been lurking around for a dramatic moment to return either. I just happened to feel yesterday was the right time to look at these boards again, and today the right time to post.
I haven't sold a single item of my collection, it is all stored up ready to be shipped to a storage facility on the planet Trafalmadore.
Uni work is keeping me busy, but also other more personal things in my life do that too, and I had to take a break from the internet. I still don't have it at home so access is broken at best.
Rick was right, I forgot to pay my bill and got my site deleted from the internet, which was a bit of a bummer, but hey. Maybe I'll rebuild it if I get the funds/time.
Hopefully over the next few weeks I can be around a bit more, I miss this for some reason.

Yes, oil on canvas, my own favourite of the series "James Rights The Wrongs, or, 101 Views Of the World According to King James III."Rick Deckard wrote:No, he was being serious.
