I assume a screenshot would be useless if the text problem hasn't been figured out yet.

I'm not sure if the Assembly issue relates to the text implementation; Osiris didn't specify in the last update. (Although, chances are, it probably does.) Even so, the team has obviously been able to place text into the game. (Cut-scenes and in-game.)
As far as asking for newer screen shots than the ones shown in the
magazine scans, it's just wishful thinking - It would just be nice to see how everything has progressed over the past year.
If anything, I just hope the team finally tests the "helpful solutions" that were provided to them several months back. It's a shame to see the project halted in its current state, but I'm sure it's due to real-life issues that have been eating up everyone's time.

Since there's no Policenauts for us for the time being, I was wondering if there's a way to play the MegaCD version of Rise of the Dragon using a mouse? I tried Gens32 and Kega and both support mice, but only in games that originally support the periperhal, and RotD apparently doesn't.. what I need is the opposite of Mouse Keys. I'm going to look if someone wrote such a tool lol

Whenever it comes I am pretty darn sure that it will be well worth the wait... its been over ten years now, makes me feel old actually, that I have wanted to play this game in English... and when that day gets here it will be just as sweet, even after all these years of advancement and new game technology. In my humble opinion this truly is one of the greatest games ever created. And I for one am great full that there are intelligent people who are generous, and willing enough with their time, to give us this translation. So for probably the 60th time... my hats off to the translation team!

Wow, ten years...you are an inspiration then! It makes waiting for the patch easy now. (Not being sarcastic.)
I echo that final statement, thanks guys.

LOL... I think it is easy to say that regardless of the length of time each of us has wanted to play the game in English, this patch is sure to be enjoyed by a great many people when it is finally released to us!

Good to see you around these parts again, Kris. It's been 9 years since the first time I played the game. I held my breath that those petitions would sway some opinions, but that never happened.

This is more anticipated than the Final Cut was.

LOL... I am always lurking around Marc... just decided to pipe up and say something I guess. By the way I just purchased a copy of CD-Romantic... I am really anxious to play through it next week and see the differences between it and the Sega/Mega-CD version. I will let you know what I think soon!

COME ON! please get these technical problems fixed! If whoever that one programmer cared, then he/she would personally go onto this board and explain to us the situation along with putting effort into QUICKLY solving the problem. What if the programmer quit and/or lied about the "hurdle"? I said I would be glad to donate if that will help and/or motivate. I don't want to have to wait another year! I believe in you guys! "Hurry, and rescue the DARPA chief!" honestly I care and I hope everything is alright.

Calm down duder, they're working things out and I can only assume that Marc finds posts like these pretty annoying.

I guess even if they're finished, they'd still have to test the whole game with subs from A to Z, to see if everything's working correctly and if necessary fix the remaining bugs, this may take pretty long too.

Sorry, I just want to know stuff. Just please finish it soon. Put every fiber of your being into it.

Even that is being quite inconsiderate. They don't owe you anything. In fact, it's quite extraordinary that anyone would put this much work into something and make the results public without asking for any payment. Hell, if you want it so bad, why don't you "put every fiber [sic] of your being into" learning Japanese and play it? Sheesh... some people, huh?

Yowza, you're not exactly helping the issue here. Can we stop the bitching and just chill out and stare idly at our inboxes for the "OMFG, IT'S FINISHED!" email?
And it's not being done completely for free. It's a little presumptuous to think they won't put it on a resume that they did work on a reverse engineering fan-translation project. Even more so should the internet implode afterwards.
EDIT: The purse on the left has a pixel different on the logo too.

^Thanks, lol.
And Alex, like I said before... Just trust 'em. I'm sure they love the game even more than you would, considering their efforts.

I'm a horrible person for losing faith in your team. I'm a long time fan of everything Kojima related (and yes, I did make an effort to learn Japanese but since I'm learning to be a sub machinist mate -nuke- for the Navy I have me little time for such). I did play through Policenauts only using a faq for bomb disposal and the employee code reference (I even managed to jiggle jubblies more than once). I enjoyed the game once, I would dearly love to experience it in English now. I am certain now that issues will be resolved and ALL THOSE WAING PEOPLE like me (especially since I'd literally and willingly pay for the patch) shall be extremely pleased. I'm sorry for being an @$$.

Good things take time.
Like Duke Nukem Forever or the female orgasm. This is one of those things.

The keyword here is patience... I have been loosely involved with the project for over 2 years now, and it was in existence long before I knew of it. Like I said in a previous post I have waited nearly 10 years to play this in English... believe me I understand. With that said however you need to understand that this is being done in peoples spare time. They do not owe any of us anything, they are doing this strictly out of love for this game. With that said it is not possible to charge for a patch such as this, at least to my understanding, for the very obvious legal issues that would raise.
On a personal note I have been good friends with Marc for nearly 8 years, he and I have tried on more than one occasion to get the game released in English. I don't know everyone personally that is involved with the project, but I do know that everyone is giving it their all... and when they say it will be done... believe me at some point it will be done. With that being said they are still people... they have friends, families, and jobs... and as anyone of working age will honestly tell you when you throw those things into the mix sometimes there is not nearly the time each of us would want to work on "extra" projects in our free time.
Lets all just continue to be patient and supportive... believe me... when there is something to announce Marc, Artemio, or another team member will be on here making the announcement as soon as they can... and the patch will be worth the wait!

Overreact much? yes they are doing it for free, and dont owe anyone anything yata yata... but you know what else that means? that means no one else has any say so if someone askes for a release date or whatever.. its like if you make someone burgers for free, you cant really do anything about it when someone bitches at you for it not being made well. all you can do is yell back.
