^ That one wasn't even made by Sega. That one was made by outside third-party studio, Dimps.

It seems like Sonic's only good games nowadays are third party. Sonic and the Secret Rings was supposed to be a return to form, has anyone here played it?
The new NiGHTS was pretty good, in Sega's defence. Not as majestic as the original, but still a fun game.

It's all Sammy's fault that Sega is what it is today.
Ever since they came into the picture, every game that Sega has cranked out has been nothing but a piece of shit, each one stinking it up more than the last.
I would think that it's bad luck, bad marketing, and bad decisions on Sega's own part that they were bought out by Sammy.
Then blame Sammy for ignoring their original fanbase and
then bad luck, bad marketing, and bad decisions lol...
... Which brings me to an interesting question... Do you think gaming companies have the duty to "grow up" with their initial projected audience?
Thats a tuff question... sure I think that every company has to "adapt" with the times in order to stay profitable. But at the same time I think you can adapt while staying true to your roots. I still to this day look at CAPCOM and Konami as my favorite game studios. They still put out quality software on a very regular basis, build new franchises, and build up and improve the old ones that are the heart and soul of the company.
There are plenty of other great companines and examples I could use, but those two, to me at least, have always been pretty consistent... of course there are always exceptions

, but like said mostly consistent.

Yeah, it was (in some ways), but it's not so much a feat considering I could take a dump on a blank disc, throw that in a console, and still end up with a better Sonic game than the ones that came before Secret Rings in recent years. Or maybe that makes it a feat? *shrugs*

AHAHAHA
Completely agree on that one.
Now for my next question...anybody played the horror that is...Sonic The Hedgehog for 360? Got to be the most bug ridden game ever to be released for the current gen consoles. I like returned that piece of donkey doo doo the day after I got it...the loading times are absolutely torturous. The Neo Geo CD's entire gameography has better loading times. I just gave up on it in the end up, I mean, I even gave Sonic R more of a chance! I think this game has put Sonic to bed for a while (third party, spin offs and wherever the characters are jumping over to Nintendo's boat aside...)

Lucky for me I just try the Demo and it was enough to know that nothing was going to end up being good in this game. I know demos are rough and should be giving the developer a bit of a chance to prove with the full game....but not in this case. The Demo was so bad you know there was no way in hell they would fix everything of the game O_O
Only good recent Sonic game I have enjoy are the one for DS and the one for Wii, but they have been so many bad games of Sonic already is hard to be interested in any new one.

As for the translation, I am indeed surprise at the responses I read before (been in the site all day getting information before posting) of people demanding the release of the patch among other stuff O_O I been following translation people make since I discover emulation (which was around 98, 99 or so, when ZNES was the 'OH MY GOD' thing for me xP) and I know how hard this stuff can be, expecially on a game of this style and of course RPG games. I am just glad you guys where working on it since I just finish Snatcher (never had the chance to play it before) and I did a fist pump when I found this site that you guys were working on a translation.
I admit I was confuse at first since the main page hasn't been update and the information I got was that it was going to be release mid 2007. At not seeing the stuff or any info on the main page, I thought it had happen to what many translation projects, that it was abandonne and no information was giving. Thankfully the forums post here calm me down and found out it just taking longer than usual. Sadly I can't offer any help since the only good thing I know to do is edit videos ^^;; Thankfully 'Professor Layton' and 'Ace Attorney 4' are coming out to clenche my thirst for more adventure like games xP
Yes, I happen to type a lot and make long post ^^;; hope that doesn't bother anyone. Tends to bother people in other forums O_o

I enjoyed Secret Rings, but only the main levels. The follow-up missions were a grade-shit example of unnecessary game legnthening. I mean, how is anyone supposed to enjoy a level where you're not allowed to collect any rings? There are far too many "who the hell designed this?" moments in that game.

Yeah, Sonic Wii is pretty fun, but I never finished it. 87th is right that having to do the same course like a dozen times, with slightly varying objectives, is not fun.
It's worth $30 or however cheap you can find it now, though.
I didn't actually enjoy Sonic Rush that much -- seems like I'm in the minority though. I guess if I feel like 2-D Sonic I reply the Genesis ones instead. Rush to me feels like a fanmade Sonic (which it basically is) and not the real thing.
NiGHTS Wii is cool too, but somehow they made it control worse than the original, and the gameplay "enhancement" side missions, etc, suck. The main game is still NiGHTS glory though, and the soundtrack esp is sweeeet.
NiGHTS is getting ported to JP Playstation 2, if anyone hadn't heard but is interested. There's a sweet limited edition I pre-ordered from play-asia with goodies.

Henry Spencer wrote:But remember; Shenmue is supposedly the most expensive videogame ever created (according to the Guinness World Records). I'd also like to see a new Skies Of Arcadia too. Maybe I'm too demanding, but I'd like a new Sega game that isn't Sonic or a platformer...
It was just announced that the PS3 exclusive Killzone 2 is set to break that record, its at $60 million now and still 6-8 months til its due out.

Hey, I decided to post again, people are seriously looking for to the translation project being done. Please start updating info on the main pages at least. Get yer arse in gear and don't forget how uber appreciative we are.

They did update, check the main site.

Sorry for being silent for so long, but the only news is, unfortunately, that the work isn't finished yet. While the text implementation for the cutscenes is complete, the in-game text is still glitchy.
As we've missed our 2007 deadline, the new deadline is now simply "when it's done." Please be patient, watch this space, and thanks again for all your support!

I expected you sooner than this, Alex.

Wow Osiris, you actually expected me to jump the gun sooner? I said I wouldn't post until something important happened, well... I kinda found a loophole because what I wanted to say I thought was important.
But otherwise, I hope everything does go well. I have my own manly affairs to attend to being in the navy, but I do have time to check up on here. I did not see the main page update, I'm such a dummy!
Metal Gear?

I only bothered ripping my CDs last night. I should probably chip my PS2 or get my old PlayStation back soon, too. The delays mean that I won't be in so much of a rush once it comes out.

I'm not taking that news as bad at all; it says the "text implementation for the cutscenes are complete, but it's still faulty", which is fresh to me. I'm glad that progress has been made. Thanks for the update fellas.
Oh, and the wallpapers are great.

You can find trailers from policenauts.net site under gallery section.
Pics are just some magazine scans, but you can find them somewhere in this topic
