Yes we do, over skype. But don't tell the rest of the people please, they'd complain by mail.

About that picture of the full Policenauts script in both Japanese & English seen in that article, does the full script also include all of the dialog that was cut from the original PC-98 version?

Yes, but I went through it and removed it for the PS version computer files to free up as much space as possible. (For some reason, they left its text in the code for the console versions.)

Sorry for bringing this up again, but I just have to.

Ever since they came into the picture, every game that Sega has cranked out has been nothing but a piece of shit, each one stinking it up more than the last.
I would think that it's bad luck, bad marketing, and bad decisions on Sega's own part that they were bought out by Sammy. Then blame Sammy for ignoring their original fanbase and then bad luck, bad marketing, and bad decisions lol...

... Which brings me to an interesting question... Do you think gaming companies have the duty to "grow up" with their initial projected audience?

Seems SEGA are in bigger problems than I first thought?

"Due to Sega failing to respond to changing business environment, the operating performance of its core businesses, including the amusement facilities business and domestic consumer business, has not been performing well," said Hajime Satomi, chairman and CEO.
Ouuuuuuuuuuuuch.

This is the part that shocked me the most.
US, February 8, 2008 - As reported on gamesindustry.biz, SEGA Sammy is attempting to cut costs by laying off 400 employees after announcing operating losses of US $242.1 million for the full year. Previously, the company had forecast a profit of $9.3 million. The move will bring staff levels to roughly 3,000 employees.
400 employees is a bloody lot to go. Losing 242 million is a huge number! Maybe Sega-Sammy will be no more soon and go bankrupt?

Microsoft. They can and will buy anything.

*snaps fingers* Ahh, good one! Think Nintendo'd give it a try, though?

Possibly, but they can't compare to the financial muscle that Microsoft has. Ideally if Sonic did get sold, I'd prefer a Japanese company to take it over.

Just like I wouldn't want anyone but an American company taking over BioShock if a sequel was ever to be made.

Despite looking like the best option, I'm getting flashbacks of nightmares I had when I was 7 years-old due to this suggestion.

I received this e-mail:

I hope Sega doesn't go out of business... Mainly for nostalgic reasons though. The only GOOD Sega games I've played in the last few years were all from their arcade dept.(mainly Virtua Fighter). Their console games have all been trash. What happened, Sega??

Ditto. I don't really care all that much though since I go on these forums so often anyway.

Same, except I tend to visit the forums at random intervals of 1-30 days to skim about.

Have there actually been newsletters since I signed up in September?

After subscribing a pop-up window should have appeared reading:
Newsletter subscription
Confirmation request sent by email.
And you should have received an email that reads:
Subject: Please confirm your subscription to Policenauts.net

Someone, most probably you, requested a subscription to this newsletter. Please follow the instructions below to complete your subscription.

Go to the following URL in order to confirm your subscription:
(Here goes an URL)
If you didn't get the mail, it is because it was blocked as spam. You'd need to check your spam folder and resubscribe.

In case you cannot register, there is an archive of all the newsletters sent at:

http://policenauts.net/mlist/

You simply click on "Browse Archives" and have instant access to all that's been sent so far.

Hope that helps a bit =)

Hey, it's been a while so I thought I'd check on things and show my continued support.

For Sega, I hope they just shut down and sell their IP's to companies that can do a better job with them. NiGHTS' comeback was atrocious, Sonic Next-Gen was abysmal, and Olympic Games was average at best. They've been mediocre since the post-Genesis days, with the Dreamcast being their best chance at a revival. They blew that by bailing too early. The real nail in the coffin was the Sammy merger, which has not worked in their favor. Sammy has tried to pull Sega away from the console market, which should explain the declining quality of their products.

Anyone that was excited about Journey to Dreams must not have noticed that the developer was the same team behind Shadow the Hedgehog.

Wow, this thread has gone quite off-topic.
