They're done, they're just keeping it from us. And sipping fancy cocktails.

Yes we keep playing it again and again, emulated on our cellphones while replying to the forums. We have a good time.

Really? I thought the project died all ready? I knew you were all up to something! Don't put your feet up on my desk, get off my bleeding chair! Sod.

Funny you should say that, because "desk" and "bleeding" are two words that involve what's going to happen to me whenever someone asks about the status of the project from now on.
So are "head," "banging on," "massive brain damage"...

Be sure of your stomach safety before look at this (I just cannot look at this video twice)

Well, with this music the vid is less disturbing, but in the movie (IRREVERSIBLE), the extinguisher hits do not really hide the sound of broken bones and the victim's rail, and that is not fantastic at all

I'm still surprised that a lot of people don't know or (worse) haven't seen Irreversible!
Also, when, project, coming, etc.

Hahaha, I'll try and contain myself when it comes to asking for progress updates. I do have a related question, which hopefully won't result in exploding heads. Is development still stalled due to real life, or is the project currently being worked on? It was a bit surprising to hear that patch development had been halted for so many months, but it's, of course, understandable; You have to do what you have to do.
For those that are interested, Osiris' (Marc's) big post on Page 31 outlines the tasks left for the patch:
Marc wrote:The current status is that our programmer is still working on the last big hurdle of the project, which is making sure the in-game text all fits. The problem is that the English text files are larger than the original Japanese, taking up more memory than the original code allows for. So, he needs to find a way around this by using other areas of memory to display the text that doesn't fit in the original location. The nature of the work is such that one day there will be a breakthrough and everything will fall into place from there. He tries A and that doesn't work, so then he tries B. If B doesn't work, he tries C, and so on. But eventually, one method will work.
So to go over it again:
The translation is done.
The text implementation in the cut-scenes is done.
He's working on this last part all by himself; we put out a request for anyone with ASM knowledge who wanted to help, but there were no takers. So please, just have patience while he finishes this part.
Once that's done, we just have to implement some minor redone graphics (mainly changing "Hojyo" to "Hojo" in various places) and English end credits, beta test it, make any necessary readjustments to the text, then we're good to go.
So, besides the text-implementation hurdle, there's the re-done graphics, English credits, beta testing, and final preparations left. (Assuming nothing else has been added since this post.) To save everyone the big question, I believe, based on previous posts, that the hurdle is still being worked on. Therefore, no one should feel tempted to ask.

Now I'm chuckling over the Ted Woosley interview last year where he said the same of his Final Fantasy 3/6 translation. Only with space limitations for an SNES ROM.
To recap:
-He offered a translation
-They handed it back and said something like "half of this!"
-He handed them something akin
-Still too big, try again!

Come on guys. are you close to finish yet? i managed to get a copy of Policenauts. please... tell us something maybe once every two weeks or similar to that effect.
knowledge is power, let us know what's going on. basically, by not telling us the situation, you guys could have most likely given up.
I know you guys are have personal busy lives too. but this is not just for fans, this is for Kojima! think about the honor and pride you'll get once it's done.
even if that means only having an hour a night to work on it.
who's the guy incharge of the hurdle, I would still like some direct feedback from him.
A heckuva lot of people are looking forward to this and MGS4. Perhaps this more than MGS4. I kinda am. I'll wait for MGS4, but this project of yours has been happening much longer. please....
I'm sorry for being annoying, but I'm not the only one getting bothered by this.
I really love you guys for even considering Policenauts. I hope everything does work out real soon.

He didn't do a bad job, though did he? I'm replaying FFVI, with the hopes of finally finishing it... I've been picking it up and putting it down for about 10 years now.

Very funny Shidoni, but you know it's all true.
I'm pushing the "I believe!" button and the "Pure F*ckin' Magic" button at the same time hoping something will happen.

Once again, the official posture is that all news are and will be posted in this thread and via the newsletter, and obviously the site. If there are no news, nothing will be done. There won't be any
"There are no news" posts.
If you need something to get by, read the whole glossary on the Policenauts site. We won't give up, this has taken many years so far and I will continue to pay these sites while I can, which I expect to be for quite long.

you guys need monies for back up to make sure the site doesn't go down? Ask for honest donations if you ever get in a pickle. I will help. I know my attempts at trying to spur you guys on is futile, but there has to be some indication of progress.
No need for a media blackout like Kojipro is there? At least they have podcasts.
Well, I'll stop posting for another long period of time like I promised before.
I still thank you for your attempts.

We don't need money and we won't ask for donationss. All of that's been discussed in the thread already so all these posts have been spam =)
No news is good news.

I really don't understand this impatience from some people
I mean hell, we've been waiting for so long, does it really make a difference waiting some more?
some of you guys forget that Artemio, Marc and anybody else involved in the project are "probably" busy with a small little thing called real life. I don't think that Translating Policenauts is the first thing that pop up in their mind when they wake up in the morning, and why the hell would that be?
just give the guys a break for fuck's sake
