I completed Halo on Co-op a couple of days ago. Maybe it's just that I've been playing it in 2008, but I couldn't really see what was so unique about it. The open environments and vehicles were nice, but didn't really set it apart from everything else. The third quarter of the game is also pretty slow. Besides that, it's a good game, but I'm surprised just how much it influenced the last console generation as it didn't seem particularly brilliant to me.
I'm playing through Halo 2 now, and this may seem controversial, but I'm enjoying it more than the original at the moment.

I've played halo on co-op and all that, but I think the game is extremely overrated. It's good, but I enjoyed some of the old FPSes way more. Perfect Dark and Goldeneye for the n64 were much better games, and I think those were also more revolutionary. Heck, even Half Life (1st and 2nd) is still better in my opinion. I've never played the multiplayer online though, so I guess that could be good without me knowing it.

I bought ZOE 2 Special Edition for around $30 on a Swedish auction site similar to ebay two weeks ago, and felt very lucky and a bit surprised when I later read that it's very hard to come by. Is that true?

I've never been able to find a copy anywhere. What is the difference in content between the regular and special editions? (I guess since you just got it you've probably never played the regular version anyway)

There's an exclusive intro, some new cutscenes, new difficulty modes, and some different versions of Jehuty to pilot. I don't know if the special missions mode was in the original ZOE2, but there's a lot of special missions in the Special Edition. I'm not sure if Zoradius is in the original, either.

A Swedish review of the original game I read yesterday claims that it had "extra missions".

It probably meant you get the special missions to play once you've completed the main game. I don't know if they're unique to the Special Edition or not.

Geez, I would have bought that version instead of the regular one if I had known of its existence. I think I'll begin the hunt for it (as soon as I get Snatcher and Earthworm Jim for the SCD). Was the special edition available in America or would I need to buy it from the UK?

It is either UK or Japan only, view

If both the Limited Edition and the Special Edition are in the UK, which should I get? Money isn't that big of a deal for collecting, so I just want to know which version is better.

I've just finished Ape Escape 2. I was a big fan of the original, and I was surprised by AE3's quality, so I was happy to buy the second game. Every bit as good as I expected, but nothing more than that. It's just a mix of the two games.

Double post sorry, but I've just completed MetalGear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the first time. I'm almost shocked to say that I absolutely loved it. It's already one of my all-time favourite games. I personally have felt that the quality of Hideo Kojima's games has been slipping since he finished MetalGear Solid, but MGS4 is, in my opinion, very worthy to be placed alongside the anything that he developed before that.
I already knew about some of the more controversial plot points, and I was very worried about them. They sounded terrible. Seeing them in the game, with all the thought and care that had gone towards incorporating them, they fit... in fact, I'll go further than that and call them "necessary", and MGS4 would be less of a game without them.
This game alone has completely restored my faith in Hideo Kojima. I congratulate Kojima Productions for their fantastic work, and I will happily look forward to their next endeavour.

Yeah, indeed. I was freaking disappointed to hear some of the things that I did (you
know what I mean, man) and looking back now, I'm sort of glad that I spoilt the game for myself a bit, since my expectations dropped a fair bit, and because of it, I really enjoyed it. The way in which the story is told is magnificent.
I'm going to gush a bit from here on in, but I just cannot contain myself, really.
It's easily the best of the series from a gameplay standpoint, so much freaking variety in there and the amount of nods to loads of Kojima Productions games, is incredible.
And you know what? MGS4 wasn't just Kojima looking back on the Metal Gear series as a whole, it was him looking back on his
career, as a whole, since there's pretty much just as many Policenauts and Snatcher references in there as there are previous MG game references.
Talking about characters, I especially loved how
Kojima really did make this game with the fans in mind, both of Metal Gear and not of Metal Gear. Best game I've played in years upon years, and easily in my top 5 of all time now.
Kojima, you've done it, YET AGAIN! =D> [/praise]

I'm playing far too many good games now to list a "Top 5" any more. There's games that I love so much that I can't help but mention them whenever I'm praising games as a medium, and I couldn't bear to forget about any of them. It's a Top 10, now.

I couldn't say where MGS4 would go yet, so I'm only willing to list a Top 9.
9- Flashback
8- Sonic The Hedgehog 2
7- Resident Evil 4
6- No More Heroes
5- God Hand
4- MetalGear Solid
3- Snatcher
2- killer7
1- MetalGear 2: Solid Snake
I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but I fully expect Flashback to get knocked off of there when I first play Policenauts in English.

I don't think I would ever be able to decide which games are in my top ten without some severe thought, but I just started playing Killer7 and that would most likely be in there. I've only beaten Angel so far, but I noticed in the first level, that I probably should have done the "more difficult" mode without the hints. The hints that they give you (at least in the first level) are less than unneccesary. I've played the resident evil games, and those required you to "Put Object A" in "Slot C" all the time. I don't understand why the hints are necessary. Do the puzzles get more difficult later on?

Maybe a top ten topic would be interesting =) I'd have to give a long thought as well, but it is doable.

The last game I completed was Yoshi's Story. I hadn't played in years and my save started me off close to the last world. I've beat it before, but it never gets old to me.

How the heck did you get it to work? I've been trying to get both syndicate games to work on my laptop for a while, but nothing seems to work.

Myself I play Syndicate on my Amiga (yes, still have it), but I haven't played it in years, last time I did I was like.. 5..
But I am aware that Syndicate has trouble on a PC.
Amigas could have gone far... but it really makes you wonder what the world would have been like if Windows didn't become so big and had to compete with "Drawers"
Anyway, my last game completed was Snatcher. (first time too)
And my last NEW game was Metal Gear Solid 4.

Three recently
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Mediocre. Fun to play, but the story was awful
Final Fantasy VI - I played VII a while back to see what all the fuss is about, and I didn't get it at all. Sephiroth isn't nearly as great a villain as people make out, I'd take Liquid over him any day. And Cloud so lame. So then I decided to play VI, maybe it was just VII I disliked; and it wasn't that great either. Bleh, I guess FF doesn't do it for me.
Fahrenheit - Great game. Probably my fourth playthrough and I still don't get bored with it.

Yeah, far as FFVII goes, I liked Sephiroth better as a "hero" -beginning of VII and first half of Crisis Core. But they've really clubbed themselves repetitively.
I no longer love their games, I love parts.
It's funny (as in surprising) to hear you say MGS4 is fun to play and has a terrible story. I find the game isn't fun to play because it's short, easy, and terribly repetitive, and the thing I enjoy the most about it is the story.. go figure.
I dunno. I had the whole thing figured out after I played Metal Gear Solid 3. Guess a lot of people expected something else and were thus, disappointed.
