Campbell : Ridiculous ! You of all people should know he died in Zanzibar.
Naomi : No, he should have died... but he didn't.

Snake : And that was Gray Fox...
Campbell : But he was already dead...
Naomi : Yes. But they revived him.

So, did Gray Fox really die in Zanzibar ?
It's clearly mentioned in the game, and it was always obvious for me, that he died, but then was revived by Dr. Clark through his Gene Therapy experiments.

Someone on the forums of the site in my sig asked if there was some official info about the real EVA's identity. I'd like to know if there's something about it in the MGS 3 Scenario Book, please. Thanks in advance.

Does it offer any insigh as to how and why the hell the Fury caused those "fire snakes" when he blew up?

No, I'm afraid there's nothing in the scenario book.

No, but they're actually dragons (with his face on them). It also says an entire third of his body was burned when he was returning from space, and he no longer feels pain because of it.

Is that true ? If so, that's really a cheap way to cover up a retcon... :P

Ocelot : Stealth Camouflage, can't you even die right!?
Is he talking to Snake or to the Ninja? If that's the latter, does that mean he knows he's Gray Fox ?

Well, considering that Ocelot is (MPO spoilers) a la-li-lu-le-lo member, he must have been informed properly of all of the goings on, and must have heard via a phone call, that Gray Fox, who the other Patriots members may have been working on, has escaped from Dr. Clark's gene therapy unit. I think Ocelot was talking about Grey Fox, I mean, it would have made sense for it to be Snake, since A) he didn't have stealth camo and B) he hasn't been known as being dead up until that point in the series.

So, I think that it is logical that Ocelot knew who Fox was. ;)

EDIT: Woah, totally liking the Patriots thing you have going on. Hehe.

He's talking to the Ninja, and yeah, he knows who he is and what happened to him.

When you type in the word for Ocelot's "group" (you know which one I am referring to) it automatically enters 'La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo' in its place.

Perhaps there's something lost in the translation; I remember reading that even the Japanese word for "Boss" means pretty much the same thing as "Father," and even if Kojima were proactively using the English terminology, it's something he'd have in mind as something implicitly understood as in the line you're referring to above.

Can anyone here with an understanding of the language elaborate as to what's going on in the original Japanese script for the final encounter between Snake and Big Boss?
Big Boss: Snake's my brother. (Slap) My son. (Slap) My brother. (Slap) My son. (Slap) My brother. (Slap) My son. (Slap) He's my brother and my son!

The word for "Boss" used is just "Boss", borrowed straight from English.

I don't remember there being any subtle hints in the game text where Big Boss talks about being Snake's father. The person who wrote that commentary in MGSnaked just said that Snake killing Big Boss was like patricide given their relationship on the battlefield.

Okay, so what's the word that means "Father" and something else, as well?
