I'm crossing my fingers for a Jackal remake!

Then just play the original. If the development team and the guy in charge aren't going to add their own flavor and take on the game then it's kind of pointless.
Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles had both the original AND an updated version of Rondo of Blood. I thought it was great, because they updated the graphics, tweaked the controls, and changed the locations of some of the secrets. BUT I wouldn't have bought the game except for the fact that it had the Original game along with the updated version. These people had the right idea. The reason that I liked this particular remake is that they updated it, keeping the original style of the game, and then they still had the original game along with it. It's obvious that I really enjoyed the game.

This was an exception to the many remakes/"reinventions" that I've played throughout the years. Rygar may have been good, but that is most definetly an exception. The problem with sequels and remakes is obvious, and identical to that of the movie-games: they are powered, not by design, but by brand. A good example is Sonic who has continued to stab us in the back over the years. I'm glad there are a few good remakes, but most peoples' visions are blurred due to their favorite mascot moving around on-screen.

That may sound dumb, but it's most definetly true.

No not dumb at all, I agree with you. I see Dracula X Chronicles as a great example of a remake gone good

Yea, I saw the new one their working on but I mean a remake of the old original Wolfenstein 3D. The one that was at the same time as Doom. Oh, that reminds me a Doom remake would be nice.

Yeah, it was called Doom3. I think they're remaking Doom 2 as Doom 4.

I though Doom 3 was a new chapter not a remake. I never played it. Anyway they should make a Doom/Wolfenstein crossover game.
