i was watching this but decided to stick to me not wanting to collect non konami printed items for now. this telephone card is neat tho, nice.

i believe it's from famitsu 1998, some sort of contest?

what was the ending price?

The ending price was 9000 yen, my max bid lol, didn't think it would reach that high (it's approximately 83 dollars).

I don't know if it's from Famitsu because I've won a gold famitsu telephone card lately and it's written famitsu on it. However it was definitely a promo item, maybe for a contest or a lottery win as it's written "thank you" on it.

However, these cards are konami official stuff as you can see the logo on it. All the telephone cards of MGS are official items, I'm not sure about the value for each one though but it's really for mad collectors I'll give you that

when i say konami made, i mean printed and provided by konami. i'm trying to avoid collecting anything that has metal gear, kojima, etc on it. i don't want to collect magazines and all that stuff, and this is what this is, it's an item released by a magazine as a promo contest for the game.

this card in comparison to an officially released konami contest or shareholder gift telephone card, which i would bid on (if i was looking at collecting telephone cards.) however, i'm sure as i run out of things to collect, these cards will get into my crosshairs.

i find the phenomenon of telephone cards and collecting them in japan interesting, since we don't have that concept here in the states. i believe europe has the same thing as well, perhaps not as crazy as japan tho.

Well I got some konami shareholder telephone cards and this one is in the same spirit, plus it's officially licensed by konami so I take the whole cards as part of one and the same collection. I'm not sure I'm going to collect every promo card though haha.

I may not buy alot anymore but I sure as heck get good deals

You guys are winning so much stuff I'M getting jealous heh

I recently won an auction for the MGSPO PSP Case. The Item hasn't arrived yet, but it was sent the last week. By the next week should be on my house, and it has insurance and everything else.

----

Not a MGS item, but recently a book I ordered just got into my hands today, it's about deeply game design & development in RPG games, since I'm about to start a half-time job in the gaming industry as producer/designer (Currently with some people we're working in a game for Xlive Community Games to be published the first quarter of the next year, if everything goes fine).

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0268695468

This book was written mainly by people behind games such as Dungeon Siege, Neverwinter Nights, Might & Magic, among others. I have been reading the first 30 pages so far and I think it's a great source, and VERY detailed yet friendly and easy to understand. The book is huuuge actually.

Some pics from my shitty cam, for reference.

You're a lucky guy! I wish I'd known it was a CD, I thought it was a Vinyl so didn't bid when I saw a cheap copy going on Yahoo Japan, but I was tempted! Now I know I'll be searching for it cos I luvs my CD's I do! lol. Talking about things I love, MGS books too, look what i found...

Won: Metal Gear Book!
Link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=004
Price: $7.99 BiN
Comments: Loving this, spotted it on another auction but it was starting too high along with other stuff that I didn't need, so I searched quickly for the book on other auctions and sites and actually found it's not that rare but for a Metal Gear Fan/Collector, it's a very cool retro item! I think anyway!

Didn't even know that bad boy existed! lol.

I've also completed the 20th Anniversary Medicom Stealth Figure collection:

Won: MGS3 Big Boss 'Stealth' 20th Anniversary Medicom
Link: http://www.japanauctioncenter.com/view2 ... /n63032437
Price: 2,000 YEN
Comments: Been looking for this and Raiden for a while so I bit the bullet and hoped for the best with post from Japan, hopefully the card won't bend.

I bought Raiden 'Stealth' at my local GAME store and I managed to get the Raymond Benson MGS novel for cheap at my local Borders store on Tuesday! It was nice to go out and purchase something from a bricks and mortar store for a change than waiting days for the mail to arrive!

Updates on my site are imminent! lol.

nice, i just completed mine since i had preordered with someone on ebay and they never shipped. i've put in a paypal claim but no refund as of yet. so i bought another off ebay and it came in pristine condition. whew.

i've had such bad luck with getting the MGS3 snake medicom normal. 2 completely obliterated boxes from NCSX, so i bought 2 and asked them to pack it well. Well, they did good and now I have 2 MGS3 Snakes in pristine condition.

If anyone wants a MGS3 Medicom Snake i'll be happy to send it your way for cost. I'm going to guess 25$ shipped in the USA via priority mail.

i'm furious with smj right now Mario.

they have a 1 for 5 in honoring shipping requests with me right now.

1 time they actually read my shipping request information and bought tracking number + insurance for my items. they didn't this time.

_so_ mad right now.

Haha, that's just awesome. But is it a strategyguide or a novel like the newly released Metal Gear Solid Novel?

Hey thanks for the heads up.

Anything over $50 I'm using Rinkya still, I'm just testing smj for low cost items that aren't that fragile.

BUT, even one screw up I'm going 100% rinkya again heh.

well i think they got to the bottom of _this_ instance of the mess up, but it's really getting fatiguing.

provided the value of your combined items for shipping USPS is 500 or under it will automatically have delviery confirmation with smj. however if it's over 500 then it's a manual process and then you'll have to ask for that service seperately.

they have gotten better at packing then they were when they first started. i've only had 1 box that was so inappropriately packed that things inside were ruined. it seems now they are buying proper packing materials since their business has definately ramped up.

smj can definately save you shipping money in the long run, especially for smaller items. once an item gets too big or too heavy however, smj will require that item to be shipped directly to you rather than to the USA storage area first.
