Americans really take politics quite seriously. I mean, I listen to radio shows and watch TV and MAN it gets heated.

Up here in Canada it's a bigger deal who's tending goal for our hockey team heh.

OK it's not that bad . At least nobody at all bitches about:

a) abortions
b) stopping gays from doing whatever they want
c) marijuana

You could be a married lesbian smoking a joint walking to an abortion clinic and you're still welcome here by most everybody.

it may not be on the top of the list but something we need to do is legalize marijuana, the way it, and this so called 'war on drugs' is handled is absolute bullshit.

I really don't get all that anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage bull shit. I say let them do whatever the hell they want. It's their lives they can do whatever they want to and people need to stop bothering them about it.

I think here in BC you can hold a small amount and not be charged. Even if you do have more than that amount it's a ticket you don't even really have to pay. Alot of people up here have licenses to grow for medicinal reasons. Almost daily in the city of vancouver people smoke joints in public and nobody cares. Even most cops.

BC should really go all out and totally legalize any amounts of it. Our bud is supposedly the world class and if we could somehow export it to other countries where it's legal we'd be a financial juggernaut. So many jobs would be created and then all the revenue to govt can bring in taxing it. We'd probably lose all trade with the USA but hey man, to make an omelette you gotta break a few eggs.

Just a side note, I'd only want it legalized for economic reasons. I haven't smoked it in 15 years and the few times I did it just gave me a fricken blistering headache.

there's always going to be a view on both sides when it comes to any country. there is truth in saying we help the world, there is also truth in saying we've hurt the world.

it's a balance.

a debt, along with money, is just a fabricated concept that man and society holds to give a generalized purpose to interact with and build society and civilization. it's no longer based on anything behind it, used to be gold and silver, before that pretty rocks and beans or ears of corn. those days are gone, we're trading currency and behind those currencies is nothing but promises of the governments that have created those currencies.

so what is this huge debt that the us has between helping and hurting the world? a fabrication. life goes on with or without a 9 jiggazaggabillion dollars in debt.
