Wow, nice site!
Very slick and easy to navigate.
Thanks for the kind offer, but my freelance contract clearly stipulates that Im not allowed to give the text to anyone else to publish, and they own it technicaly.
(lousy cads and their iron clad contracts!

)
But, that doesnt stop you from scanning it, putting the scans up
without my permission, along with some screens. I certainly wont tell anyone.
If you know what I mean, if Im not being too subtle about it, wink wink, nudge nudge and all of that malarky.
Im trying to get some scans actually since I dont live anywhere near where its sold. Ill pass them on once I get some.
Anyway, feel free to use my chart if you want, and assuming Snatcher doesnt mind of course. Just rub over the bit that says "made exclusively for junkerhq.net"
Actually, if any site wants to use the chart, they can as long as they leave my name in the corner.

Out of interest, how did you come to be doing work for GamesTM, did you just go for an interview, of did you gain action Solid Snake style?

I had done a lot writing for websites previously, ones that GTM would view.
I also knew some of them fairly well on a personal level.
They liked my work and approached me to do a one off, which turned into a more regular freelance position.
Luck and hardwork really. Oh, and being an obsessive gamer.

I'll look for it, but Orkney's a small place, so I wouldn't be surprised if I can't find the magazine sold up here.
(EDIT- It's my 87th post! ^_^)

Congrats on the 87th post.
A lot of fellow brits here I see, always a good sign.
Anyway, Id love it if someone could scan the article and put the scans up here, if only briefly. I still haven't read the edited version yet, or seen what they did with the screens.

??:
But Ive been getting good feedback on it, so I reckon you guys should like it.
Enough with the chit chat, SOMEONE PUT UP THE SCREENS ALREADY!

Just got the issue, and despite not having my name in the contributers section at the back, AGAIN, it was only lightly edited and I am certain every metal gear fan will love it. (my name was on the article, but I really wanted it in the contributers section too)
Some edits annoy me though, I was allowed to call the USA manual writing team a bunch of crack addicts for legal reasons, so they simply said the manuals were written by someone who appears to not grasp english very well. Ah well, ce la vie.
Unfortunately I cant get it scanned without much difficulty, so Ill just say that its worth tracking down and reads fantastically.
EDIT:
Behold the original quote regarding the rewriting of the US MG manual:
Which would have been fine had they not used what present day MG fans speculate were local crack addicts
and their redone version, less bit I am sure you will agree:
This would have been fine had it not been written by someone with little or no grasp of the game... or English
Which do you prefer?

Talking of UK Kojima based articles, Hideo Kojima, himself, wrote a column for Official UK PlayStation 2 Magazine, reviewing movies that most influenced his games. I think I've still got all the issues he wrote for, so I'll try and bring up some scans, if anyone's interested.

Might be a while, though. I'm at College now, working straight after, and then partying. I work the next day, too. Might get it done by the end of the weekend.

Oh well, there's also a feature where he went through his 20 favourite movies of all time. I can still scan that.

If you particularly like the article, be sure to email the mag and let them know.
It should encourage them to want me to freelance again in the future.
Though dont tell them I said that of course
As for the Kojima article, its another reason why I like the guys design. The DOTD thing was a genius explanation. Thats why his games work, because he thinks outxide of the box and uses themes in a way no one else would consider.
Lets use the claustrophobic fighting from DOTD with the sneaking from The Great escape, multiplied by the guns of navarone and sprinkled with modern film references....
The man is a genius.
