But the Playstation version has mouse support. This makes gameplay far more precise and comfortable. I don't think this is in the saturn version.

And the Sega Saturn version has light gun support, extra scenes, and much better packaging. Also I think that the Sega Saturn version might support a mouse but I'm not 100%.

Yeah, it does. By the way, I love your avatar. The PC98 version rocks.

the saturn version is much better than the ps1 version in my opinion. You should really put some more thought and time into the saturn and all its games....

The light gun support is a con in my opinion. I mean come on! You have to move that big peace of crap over half-inch enemies. And it really distracts from the cinematic feel of the game. It makes it feel less like an interactive animé movie and more like one of those cheesy shooting games you find in movie theater lobbies. And who cares about the extra scenes? It's not like they add anything. And for the record I much prefer the packaging of the PSX version. Who even looks at that stupid picture book that comes with the saturn version? I like Hideo Kojima's games not because of the pictures but because of the story, details and gameplay. And you can get the same bonus features you get in the Saturn version if you by the private collection disc. All in all I definitely prefer the PSX version.

But all the extra features you mentioned (sans the extra scene - which is actually not that bad) are optional, meaning you don't have to take advantage of them. Plus, the Saturn version has a handy on-line dictionary of all the game's terms.
If you're rating the two versions objectively, the Saturn version wins hands down.

the light gun makes things alot more realistic, and I feel it also adds alot to the game. Ive tryed them all (like most people have) 3do mouse and controller, playstation controller (havent done mouse), and saturn controller and gun....the gun is great especially the one I have

its not the crappy colored ones, but a black one that looks exactly like Jonathans.

But the graphics are better in the PSX version.

There more detailed during gameplay in the PSX version.

Hmm... The Saturn version came out after the PSX version and was better at 2D. Yeah, I'm sure they are. They are identical, except the FMV sequences. The Saturn has a higher frame rate than the PSX version, but slightly less clear video, though I prefer the Saturn version.
That was the vaguest support ever, by the way. Do you have any concrete examples?

I am a loyal Playstation fan. No matter how much evidence you have to tip the scales for the Saturn version I will always say PSX!

Osiris I just thought you might want to know that the dictionary you mentioned is on the Private collection disc.

He knows that as well, and that is not included in the PS version, it is a separate disc.

I know that, and I found that disc for a VERY cheap price on ebay.

My point was you have it at your fingertips while you play the game with the Saturn version.

Oh my, not a console war in here. I though these kind of fanatic people only appeared in massive forums.
