According to a Gamespot interview, Volume 2 will look at all the 'gaiden' games, like Ghost Babel and AC!D.

Meh. Sounds alright, but I wish they would instead do a volume covering specific themes about the main canon. If they make Vol. 3, it should be completely character-oriented and be narrated by both: Yoji Shinkawa and Hideo Kojima. It could focus on the characters that will appear in MGS4 (Vamp, Naomi, Meryl) and related characters (Fox, Campbell, The Boss).

I finally got to watch my disc and it was everything I expected. I mean honestly what do you expect from a FREE disc that was known to only be approximately 30 minutes in length? If Kojima productions had stated it was going to be a full length documentary yeah I would have been a little ticked off but we've all known for months that this wasn't the case.
It's a cool little gift and I appreciate Kojima Productions for taking the time to make it.

They kinda hyped it up a bit, with the trailer and everything, though. It's just a Ryan Payton (guy who does The Report) project, anyway. You can't really expect him to tell us anything new about the games.

It's not a bad image.

This is what I call MISSING THE POINT.
It's NOT't so much that's it's a BAD image (it's quite GOOD), but the fact that it's FANMADE and NOT OFFICIAL, hence a complete LACK of PROFESSIONALISM from Kojima Productions' part. They did the same thing last year during E3, when they show mock-ups of the MSX MGs with fan-translated text.
I mean, obviously they could use a simple screenshot or an artwork from the MSX manual.

BTW, here's proof that the DVD's coming to Europe.

I don't know how you'll be able to get it, though. It doesn't seem to mentioned on any pre-order site i've looked at. Maybe it'll be included as a standard 4th disc?

I wonder if it'll be packaged like the US version or just clipped to the inside of the DVD case... Knowing Konami during this whole period, I wonder if it might be the latter (especially if it's not a pre order thing).

In Europe, Saga's being packaged with the Platinum reissue of Snake Eater, due out March 23.

Great, looks like I'll own 4 copies of the game, next month.

I preordered the game but I probably won't have enough money to pick it up next week. I was somewhat disapointed wtih the DVD (they should've put more trailers and stuff on it, in my opinion, but the documentary thing wasn't half bad). I mentioned the DVD on my blog at

Judging from that picture, it looks like it's going to be clipped to the inside of the package. More cheapness.

I'm sure this is kind of a lame-ish question, but does anybody know if people in America are going to be able to play online with people in Japan and Europe?

I think that's standard in most games.

No it's not.
The number of completely cross-region compatible online PS2 games is small. Click
here.
However, we can assume that Subsistence will be cross-region as it's being released by Konami, who also produced the multi-region Steel Lancer Arena International (SLAI). If they're using the same firmware, which is likely, Japan, Europe, and the USA would be able to play against one another.

Oh, right. It's just that whenever I try Tony Hawk's games online, I end up playing against a large group of Americans. Same with SOCOM and TimeSplitters 3.

Well, it's alright, it adds more challenge to games like the aforementioned Tony Hawk's (which all my friends are cack at). I have been a lot of rooms on European severs that are easy as hell to win in.

There's actually more cross-region compatible games than I expected.
I can't wait to play online, that's probably all I'll end up doing for a few weeks after the game comes out (I'm taking over my friend's broadband connection, shouldn't be too big of a deal because all he does is sit around and play World of Warcraft).

The only thing that comes to mind regarding cross compatibility is the language issue.

I've found that with playing with people that speak a different language the mics usually get turned off. It's not a problem when playing, say, Street Fighter or Guilty Gear over Xbox Live, but I could see it eventually becoming a problem in a team-based game like MGO.

As for the original topic, I just watched my copy of the Saga DVD today.
I can't say that it blew me away with facts, but I did think it was well put together (especially for a giveaway on a game that's retailing at $30). Granted, maybe my expectations were low, but I wasn't expecting the decent packaging and such.
Plus it was worth it for the high quality version of the MGS4 TGS trailer. Unnngh, that's purdy.

Yeah. that's easily my favorite part of the DVD. I can't wait to play the thing.

The trailer is on the 3rd disc movie as well (if people are curious).
