It's true. I bought by PSP in April from Hong Kong, and Customs added som charges to it. I still saved £32 from the European September release. You can often find brand new American/Japanese PSP and DS games for £10 cheaper than the European ones (with postage). It's rediculous!

Yeah, just looking at Ibara for PS2, a particularly expensive game as Japanese shooters often are - it's $64 i.e. £37, the typical RRP of games over here
While you might get £10 or so in customs charges every so often (twice in about 25 or so games for me) you still save a ton of money over time.

I usually just buy from UK shops on eBay. Seems like a good way to avoid customs charges.

Wrong.
Here you have the Japanese models.
No one of you mentioned that Alien Soldier got released in Europe and not in the US.

Well, thank you for making me eat my words on that one, Wesker! The Jap Mega CD looks even nicer than the Euro one, what with that very nice BLUE drive open button! And it runs the version of Sonic CD with the Jap soundtrack- at 60hz! Though that doesn't make a difference in the music speed, just the game speed, heh.

Not really very sure of the slidey on switch, though. I'm quite happy with my version.

I like it. Makes the console just a touch more interesting.
