yea I keep hoping and praying for mgs4 on the 360. Only because I dont feel like dropping 600+ bucks just for mgs4. The next gen systems I own are 360 and the Wii incase any one cared <_<

You know, after a while when you really just sit down and think about it, does it matter? By the time I go to buy a PS3, MGS4 will be out and the console will have dropped in price (partly because I am trading in my PS2 as well).
I mean we are talking about Mr. Kojima, whatever he touches will turn to gold!

The PS3 might not be the cheapeast console but I would rather support Sony and Nintendo (I bought a Wii and loving it :P) then Microsoft right now. Sony is doing alot of stupid things but so is Microsoft when it comes to community and speed of console release.

(For instance, I hear Microsoft actualy has the gulls to include Xbox 360 replacements as full console sales in there mark-ups at the end of each quarter.)

If Konami has any sense it'll wait until well after the PS3 version is out to announce a port.

Anyway, can we please keep the discussion here to Policenauts? There are other threads for MGS4 on 360 speculation.

yes, let's keep to it!

So... have you got a date picked out for release or are you just finishing up the patch thing?

Posted: Wed Feb 28, 2007 12:36 pm
by Marc
No, we don't have a solid date right now. I said "second half of the year" as a ballpark figure.

It's fantastic that the translation of Policenauts is finally going to be released this year. Thank you, thank you very much guys. I was already happy when the MSX translation of Snatcher was out and now Policenauts too, wow! Thank you so much! :D:D

On other question though, are you going to translate the Private Collection of Policenauts (PSX) in a later stadium (for example when all other translations are finished)?

All the materials from PC have been translated, but I don't know if there'll be a patch for it like the full game. The plan right now is to just put them on the website. Remember what's on the disc:

- Shooting Gallery: nothing to translate here.

- Trailers: we've made subtitled versions of these which we plan to offer as downloads.

- Database: the translated glossary and timeline are already on the website.

- Making: I've translated all the staff comments, which will also appear on the website. The deleted scenes section will also be available in translated form. That just leaves the gallery, and most of these don't have any text. As for the ones that do, we're still thinking about what to do regarding them.

- Sound Test: again, nothing to translate here.

And don't worry, there's much, much more to come than just this...

Hey, first-time poster, long-time lurker. I just wanted to say that I've supported this project since the beginning. I always enjoyed watching for updates, and the new Policenauts.net is something to be excited about! After all these years, the project's almost complete! I think you guys have shown an abnormally large amount of dedication to such a demanding task. I, as well as everyone else, thank you for doing what we couldn't and sharing it with the Snatcher/Policenauts community.

I just wanted to say that I am very appreciative of all the efforts you've put into your translation. I just beat Snatcher, and was looking desperately for a translation/walkthrough of PN, but I'm glad I found this site. I'll wait a while until the patch comes out so that I may enjoy the game in all of its glory! Thanks again!

Wow! It's amazing to see all of these familiar and new faces come out of the wood-work -upon the site launch! Thank you all for the support of this project, and remember: your pleasure, is our mission. (LOL I hope that came out right <_< >_>)

Rest assured thought, as Osiris has stated above; there's tons to come, and so much at that! The website alone will be as magestic as a Mexican casino, although without the hookers and urine smell!

I have a technical question about the patch. Let's say we have the game CD's, and we need to make a rip for the patching process as well as our PC emulator. There are two options (that I'm aware of): Create an ISO or a BIN/CUE. I noticed on the website that no ISO requests would be accepted, but I wanted to ask upfront which file is preferred by the patch's program.

Specifically, I use these two programs:

1) CDRWin v3.6 (Creates BIN/CUE file):
http://www.goldenhawk.com/download_body.htm

2) ISOBuster (Creates ISO file):
http://www.isobuster.com/isobusterdownload.php

What kind of rip will be compatible with the patch program? What program (preferably freeware) is recommended for the creation of this desired rip?

Thanks for the assistance!

This has already been addressed in a seperate thread:
viewtopic.php?t=1295

Check that out. ISO Producer is the recommended app, and the one I myself prefer because it's simple and it's free.

and another emerges from the woodwork...

Hey chaps, just popped in to give my congratulations, appreciation, and thanks. I first came across this project at its humble beginnings, and followed it until 2003-2004, at which point real life took over and I lost track of it. Found it again at the end of February via gamefaqs.

I can only imagine the amount of work you've put into such a text-heavy game. It boggles my mind, and you have my praise and respect.

Time to unpack those PS1 games. Can't wait to play this one in English, 10 years after the ill-fated English Saturn release was announced.
