Yup, i made sure to sign up. Thanks anyway. It sounds like their programmer is going through a tremendous amount of work to implement the english text to the game.

Yeah, I do feel very sorry for whoever that programmer is; sounds like he's going through hell, he even said himself it's like a 'nightmare'. Must be bad. I'm afraid I know of nobody who could help out. Good news on the part that the anime cutscenes are finished though, still a fuckload of dialogue to get stuck into though (from the gameplay).

We don't have to individually program each line of dialogue in order to make everything work. He just needs to complete the code and it will create an environment that will allow every line to display properly.

Oh I see. I have heard of some translations where they include 'fansubs' such as the ones for countless amounts of anime for example; some of them are done individually. But if it's codes you're inputting, I can imagine that would be harder.

Yeah, you need to set each line in a fansub individually, but with this type of translation you need only translate the text then substitute the Japanese text for it at all the hex locations. However, you then need to do some rewriting with the display routines, which is less involving in some titles than others, as in this case.

You know, no one's asked me if this was intentionally worded or not (given Jonathan's... antics in the game)...

Hahaha. Point taken. I always felt that was a very odd word choice, but now it makes complete sense.
