I know bay, I'm such a douchebag liar when I said I wanted no more posters. I noticed em super low though and figure what the hell. I wanted an unsigned MGS4 theater poster but didn't think I'd get one so cheap.

shoppingmalljapan.
Anything I buy under 10,000 I use them, anything fragile or over 10,000Y it's Rinkya all the way. Seriously I got those cheap. The last time a theater style mgs4 poster was on ebay it was a re-printed replica and sold for $262.50. Maybe I should test the waters for those xmas spenders since these are cheap on yjp now.
But, having an unsigned one is pretty sweet too, especially as the new house I bought has a ton of room.

yah the average for the theatre poster is 100$ so that went for a pretty good price.
i'm about at my end of wanting to collect actually. honestly tho dude, if you are just buying to resell you won't have my support. for every time you buy sometime to resell, someone else lost the ability to have that item, collect, etc for a reasonable price.
and yes, you are a dirty liar.
hope you enjoy the posters, im about done with collecting honestly.

Nah I wouldn't resell. Let's say I sell it for $250. First, it's gonna cost me $125 after fees/shipping. Now I'm at $125. From that let's substract ebay/paypal fees and exchange rate crap. Now I'm down to $90-100. So I gotta buy the item, relist it, repack it, ship it...ugh...OR...I could just work 2 more hours at my job that sometimes involves me at the cpu surfing MG collector sites heh and bill the company for my time. I'd much rather take that route. Plus I could get custom fees or a disgruntled buyer....so much potential headache for very little money.
Actually, all my doubles have been going at cost lately (right down to the last penny), or by trade. Plus whoever has gotten items from me usually gets free shit thrown in as well.
It's funny, I tooam losing the desire to collect MG. Honestly, there isn't much I want left, and not to sound arrogant but it's hard to find anything I need anymore. Hitting up ebay or yjp is almost useless. I can find good deals, but nothing I'm like "OH SHIT I WANT THAT!". Perhaps my Resident Evil collection will begin sooner than later as I try to fill in the last few MG items I'm looking for.
EDIT: Heh, I was even looking for a decent RE domain name for when I start and if I put it on the web.
DOUBLE EDIT: Ah who am I kidding, I love MG and will never stop

yah i understand, but really, im getting bored so i might just move on. i gotta sell alot of stuff in general tho, i think once i sell SOME stuff, i'll feel better and go back to doing what i do normally :p
lately ive been thinking more about what i probably should rather be doing with my time than metal gear collecting and games. i work way too much in general, i actually have to _make_ time to play games, etc.
this week i'll be in denver, i doubt anyone is from around there, but if you are PM me and we'll chill.

Heh, I wonder when someone posts something like that how many PM's you get saying "Hey man what're you selling I might be interested...?"
Maybe none....maybe tons....either way, I call dibs on the Snake poster with the monkeys (yellow one)

ahaha, tats the opposite for me! i'm actually trying to quit (fine not quit, but play little amount of) games. the funds that I have are diverted to mgs collecting and my hunger for audio hardware.
I personally find mgs collecting pretty fun. but of course, it does take the dough outta u like crazy.

This has been the most difficult type of thing I've ever collected. Items are so rare when they finally appear after months you get in a bid war for it. For alot of other items like comics or sports cards etc I notice I can find what I'm looking for WAY easier, and you can be more selective. Collecting MG is rough, and you gotta come to terms that even if you have the money there's just some items you'll never own because the timing may just be better for someone else to purchase it.
At least it adds variety to people's collections though.
But yeah, along with the money there's alot of time involved. Especially since to get alot of really great items you gotta go the private sale route. I try to get myself out there so people can find me instead of vice versa so that helps alot.

Why'd that close so high? I've seen the trailer DVD close by itself for like a third of that...sealed in the original case...?

ive yet to see that trailer flyer/dvd combo, it's either one that was given out at a special event (press?) or something like that. i have the regular release, so i'm not sure what that is yet, hence i want illusion to take good pictures.

Hey bay, when will we be getting to see your new website? I'm looking forward to seeing this database of yours. Sounds like it's gonna have a lot of good info and pics in there.

im in denver this week, ill be back home after that and get to wrap up some of the loose ends. it won't be done right away, but the backend and everything will be ready for all the inputs.
also, mantis has seen some pics of my personal collection that i'll be putting pictures up as well. i think his general reviews have been favorable.
