I believe that was never actually confirmed but just assumed/a rumor.
One potential issue here that comes to mind is what if the radio drama doesn't make it into English officially, and other projects in the series refer to its story?

That would mean everybody would turn to you guys for help!

Otherwise, I don't know, we'll just have to see what becomes of this.

We can pray the localization team will take into account non-JP speakers didn't get the radio drama  I wouldn't hold my breath. I'm sure someone will at least post the general gist, in English, of the radio drama after it releases (hint hint hint hint?)

OR they may just release a manga comic to everyone, like for the first Snatcher and give the background in that?

Yeah, I'll do a translation a la the MGS radio drama. We'll even post the MP3s if possible.

I just knew we could rely on the Junker crew.

I listened to the recording of the show just now and they say basically what Famitsu reported. It's a series of projects, the first being a radio drama written by Suda, and he's also planning to play a character in it like they mentioned. It'll be about Gibson, up until his death. Kojima joked he'd forgotten a lot about the game since it's been so long, and had to go back and refresh himself on it. Suda also said he's nervous about working on it, since he likes the game so much and wants to do a good job.
Suda says he wants to call the radio drama "Snatchers", but I think Kojima's original title, JUNKER, might be appropriate (if possible), since it's about Gibson.

Yeah, save the 'Snatchers' title for the continuation; which I guess will be either a game or an anime.

"Snatchers" seems much more suitable for a sequel rather than a prequel. A kind of reference to the Alien series, too.

Yeah, that's what I said; and it is a good reference to Aliens as well.

That's exactly what Kojima and Suda mentioned in the talk, though I think they're forgetting it's a prequel.

The Kojima Report by Paton mentions all these details officially in the podcast, they even talk about the possibility of an English translation if they receive enough interest in it. So go to
their site and let them know what you want.

Thanks for the notice. "Sudatcher" made me smile.
The ideas they were mentioning about the illustration-based flash movie seems quite interesting, and completely within KojiPro's character.
Project S seems to be all about what Snatcher fans want. As one of the most vocal and enthusiastic Snatcher sites on the internet, members of the Junker HQ forums may find themselves having a surprising deal of influence on the project. A lot of people believe that Kojima Productions employees view the forums from time to time, so I wouldn't be shocked if these posts help the company to make decisions.

If that is the case (which I'm hoping it is), then I'll say on the record that, I want an animation of the sequel to the events from Snatcher.

Well, assuming they do any online research on how the fans feel, they're bound to come across Junker HQ. It's the second result for "Snatcher" on Google, after all (following the Wikipedia entry that links to this site).

The only question is, how much interest would they be looking for? Even among hardcore MG fans, few people know much about it or have played it.

Probably just ideas that they like the sound of or a little confirmation that people are excited about what they're planning, to be honest.

Well, yeah. I think the MG fans, knowing that Kojima is through with MGS after the fourth title for definite this time; will be interested to try out Snatcher now, I know three people personally that are going to try out Snatcher, not just because of me, but because they loved MG and say they will probably love Snatcher (and Policenauts) too. Plus
if a new Snatcher game would come out for the Wii, I think people would be interested; since Goichi Suda is bringing out probably the most mature game for the system. And all of the older gamers out there with a Wii shall be buying No More Heroes, add Snatcher to that list once they find out it's a combination of Kojima and Suda. Just my thoughts.
The only game I would worry about selling well, would be Shenmue III, if it is ever going to bloody come out, that is. That's one game I worry about; Snatcher sequel on the other hand? Nah. If it came out as an animation instead of a game, I would still be all too pleased. I still think Snatcher needs closure, since there are plot holes here and there. Plus I'd rather see Kojima working on a new Snatcher game, rather than yet another MG game, which has been whored out really. But yeah; some friends of mine are going to try it out soon, which is good, since they would realise that Kojima ain't all about MG and nothing more, you know?

To quote an interview with Kotaku:
kotaku.com wrote:... If users want more Metal Gear, then I will probably step up as producer...
It'll be MGS3 all over again

(although I'm hoping not, no more MG please - for the sake of its already tarnished dignity).

Um, yeah, I don't want another MG game, and I shall not be buying the next one because Kojima ain't working on it (as writer/director). I've always been more of a fan of Kojima himself, rather than the MG series, of course. I'm getting sick of MG anyhow.

I guess we all feel the same. And some part of me fears for Snatcer for the same reasons, but the rest of me would want more stuff. After all, craving for more Snatcher is what made me start collecting, I wanted to know all about Snatcher (which the book didn't solve for me =P)

I've heard of very few people who want a MGS5. I really hope Kojima is brave enough to make MGS4 the last game in the series- before it gets too stale.

Kojima's said after every MG since MGS2 it'd be his last as director.
Sick of MG? There's only been, what, 7 MG games really in 20 years! I wish FF fans would get sick of Final Fantasy
MG is my favorite game series -- I'm surprised you guys are so pessimistic about it -- but I hope this is Solid Snake's last outing and it wraps up all the weirdness of MGS2. Ending a series is a lot braver than continuing it forever (RE?)
And I think it's pretty bizarre for anyone to say they don't want to see an MGS5, at least until 4 is actually out. Not much next-gen content has been exciting so far in terms of a new way to experience games -- I think MG will bring that to us again.
But of course, if no more MG meant new Snatcher/PN installments, or a whole new story-driven series, hell ja.

I think it's completely understandable (especially since I don't want another MG after MGS4). MetalGear was (or still is) one of our favourite series', but demands for more quash creative freedom. Recent additions to the series have been far less creative than Kojima's previous games, and it's getting to the point where many fans aren't excited about his new games any more (I, personally, haven't bothered to complete MPO, and I haven't even bought Lunar Knights!). If Kojima keeps making MetalGear games, not only will it tarnish the series' legacy, but it will also keep him from making more original, innovative games.
Many of us like the earlier games just as much as (or more than) other die-hard Hideo Kojima fans, but we want the series to end on a high, rather than forgotten about after a series of gradually worsening games that ended up getting too few sales to bother continuing with. I believe that most of us agree that MGS4 looks great, and that's exactly why we want it to be the last in the series.
MetalGear 2: Solid Snake is my favourite game of all time. I really don't want it to be associated with a bunch of third-rate sequels.

They're not comparable, really. For one thing, the FF games feature self-contained worlds whereas the MG(S)-games are basically direct sequels, which changes everything. The main problem I have with MG(S) is that the storyline is really mutilated at this point as result of all Kojima's retconning (some of which is very dubious). I was starting to get the "aren't we taking this posthumous editing a bit too far"-feeling when playing MGS2 (and seeing how that turned out I don't think it was too far off), but I took refuge in the fact that there weren't going to be any more games in the series - yeah, right...
MetalGear 2: Solid Snake is my favourite game of all time. I really don't want it to be associated with a bunch of third-rate sequels.
I was thinking along the same lines. MGS: Integral was a fantastic game which pulled me in like few other games at the time had been able to do - it was also innovative in its approach to game play and the story line felt reasonably fresh and well-executed. The ending was fulfilling. I'd like to describe MGS2 as MGS: I's antithesis in some parts and it was really not what I was expecting, but more on that in a separate thread whenever I feel I have the energy...
I'm thinking MGS having future sequels is more a question of commercial interest as it's become one of Konami's biggest cash cows and has established enough brand loyalty to sell on that alone - MGS5 wouldn't need Kojima's involvement to be successful (whether it would need it to be a good game is a different question entirely).
