I just picked up an old FZ-1 3D0 the other day and am looking for some good game suggestions. The system came with the following:
Alone in the Dark
Road Rash
Way of the Warrior
Gex
Various sports games (not really a sports game guy).
Thanks in advance.

Policenauts, of course.

And The Incredible Machine. The 3DO wasn't exactly rife with classic games, but it had a few good ones.

Any input on Star Control? I've been reading about it a bit and it seems pretty interesting.

I know it isn't saying much but the game has an average rating of 9.3 on Gamespot.

Get Policenauts more for the novelty value. It's the worst version of the game (missing dialogue, pixellated graphics, slow loading, weird art in places).

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Myst
Wolfenstein 3D (The best ever version, even better than Mac's port.)
Out of This World (fucking awesome game)
Syndicate Wars
BRAIN DEAD 13!!!!!

Ah yeah, I forgot about that one. It
is better than the Mac's port, but no port tops the original PC version. It's the second-best version, though.

Oh yes, I usually rank em all in this order:
3DO(Best)
PC
MAC
GBA
Snes Port (worst, they couldn't even make Hilter, well... Hilter!! lol)

Ah, now that game brings back memories.
What other game would allow you to fight Adolf Hitler in a mechanical suit of powered armour with quad chainguns?

The 3DO version just doesn't have the charm of the original PC version. Apparently it's quite similar to the Atari Jaguar version, which is supposed to be good too. I woiuld rate the GBA version above the Mac version, because it's a completely faithful recreation of the PC version. And what about the Apple IIgs version? That's supposed to be a good one.

Have you ever played SNES Doom? It's terrible! It runs worse than when they port laser disc games to DVD!

Worse than when they ported laserdisc games to the Sega CD?

Very true too, the only thing I would say actually now that I think about it, the 3DO version had like an entire new soundtrack, it was made to be all epic and WWII like as well, and that was just no fun. Oh man I totally forgot about the Jag version! Now that has to be near the best, although it runs in the linear level format as SNES's did, without episodes. (But hell it had the best remixes of the PC soundtrack.)
The Jag kicked ass for the time it existed, fuckin' Aliens V.S. Predator was a classic.

Oh man it's horrible, also if you get to the Hitler head or the head on a stick in the SNES version opposed to the original, the game just fucking crashes!
This also reminds me of Duke Nukem 64, and how they edited out all the boobies and such, but reprised some value with the smg guns, altered levels, and better gfx.
