Policenauts magazine article (updated w/ scans)

Greetings all

I'm writing a short article for Retro Gamer, on Policenauts.
www.retrogamer.net

I have a Saturn, Policenauts, and an S-Video cable... But my save file was lost. Meaning I'm stuck at the start of the game, with a 3 day deadline, and no way of getting the images I need!

Can anyone here take some screengrabs of Policenauts and email them to me?
john.szczepaniak@imagine-publishing.co.uk

I can credit you, and JunkerHQ.net for assistance.

I need as many as possible, especially exciting and dynamic looking shots. So, fight scenes, the one with the bikini girls, explosions/deaths, the bomb diffusion minigame, bio mortuary with all the suspended bodies, anything that looks strange or exciting and makes you want to play the game.

I don't care what version. PS1, 3DO, Saturn, PC98, and they can be emulated or screengrabbed if you have the needed equipment, but the thing is.... I NEED SCREENS ASAP!!!

Many thanks to anyone who has screens they can provide. They can't be watermarked, and if possible, shouldn't be commonly available internet screens. But anything will do, as long as they're not watermarked and I have permission to use them.

Also, can anyone comment officially on the translation progress? My basic theme for the piece is: Policenauts is awesome, Konami were idiots never to release it in English, it's a travesty etc... But there are some dedicated chaps working on a fan translation. End of article.

Feel free to post any extra info or questions you have. It's just a short article, part of our Easter Promise series.

Thanks again to anyone who can help me out, because I'm in a real jam here.

MY EMAIL:
john.szczepaniak@imagine-publishing.co.uk

Thanks again
Best regards
John Szczepaniak

I am sorry I can't help more, I am really out of time at this point. I guess you can use pictures by Osiris and Snake Plissken, but you should send them a PM first:

These are all from the PC9821 version of the game

Wow. Awesome man, thanks a lot, this is definitely worthy of an update by Artemio, is it not?

Thank you once again for doing the article, John. Can't wait to pick it up.

Well, the article would be nothing without the images. Sorry about not providing scans, I've not got a scanner!

If anyone here has the issue, feel free to put up scans. I don't mind. :)

^ Nor do I. I will pick up a copy though and inform you all what it exactly says, if interested?

Oh dear, look at this idiot:
Any Wii games reviewed?
It's a retro game magazine! You know, OLD games.

Maybe they mean VC games?

My copy just arrived. Wow!

Sorry these are only photos and not proper scans. I'll see if I can get them properly scanned soon. And apologies for my feet at the bottom; they were holding the pages down. :D

If anyone else wants one, you can order them direct from the publisher here: http://www.imagineshop.co.uk/mag_home.php?magID=11 It's issue 33. They run out fast, so best to act soon!

Yeah I got my copy the other day as well, very good article, could have been longer, but it went over the bare facts as to explain why Policenauts should have been released on Western shores. Great pics too. 8)

I think 2 pages is a good sized article. Nearly all of the previous magazine articles on Policenauts in the past have been 2 pages (some only 1 page or even a boxout).

If it helped turn new people on to the game then it did its job. :)

Yeah, I also got the mag for the Earthworm Jim section, since I am a fan of that as well, that was 6 pages long! Wowzers, anywho, it was the best issue of the mag yet.

It also has the making of Alter Ego. Now I have to pick this up for sure. I swear that's not sarcasm, even though this probably comes off as a very sarcastic post.

YES!! He used our picz!

UGG! I totally forgot about this guy and his mag though, if anyone donates a mag to the Snake Plissken fund before they run out you'll be rewarded with porno mags and rare collectables. Meh last pleasure fund had to go to my oversized electric bill. :(

Aww, you missed it? It was a great issue, my actual favourite from them so far, it had a lot in it that I enjoyed reading. I was actually surprised he uploaded such a big spoiler regarding all of the bodies being attached to something. It makes the game look original and intriguing though. I'd buy it if it was the first time I had ever seen or heard anything about Policenauts, the article sold the game to the unknown public well I think.

The versions that most people will play, though, the console versions, do not have the bodies suspended in the open like that. He also didn't give the who, where, or why to it. He picked screens that would make the game look interesting to newcomers.
