I wonder if this rumor about MGS PC is true...

I have heard in one occasion a rumor that PC version of Metal Gear Solid has been somewhat censored from Playstation release. Since I haven't been able to compare both PC and Playstation versions, I was wondering if anybody here with experience from both versions could help me with this.

While I know that rumors in Internet should often be taken with a grain of salt, I would like to confirm this from a reliable source. Thanks in advance!

Hm...I've never noticed a censorship in the PC version...what kind of censor?

The rumor never went into details. To be honest, I never took it that seriously. However, I decided to ask about it out of curiosity. Just to be sure, are you speaking about American or European release of PC version (although I don't think there is any difference)?

In the PC version had Johnny Sasaki wearing underwear, rather than showing his bare ass. But it was already like that in the Japanese MGS and in Integral (whom the PC version is based on).

That makes sense. Thanks for both of you for your help.

Why did they make him, wear underwear? His ass was censored anyway.

Probably to make Meryl look more conservative or something.

Maybe it's this japanese panty fetish.

Also, why would Meryl even need to take his underwear anyway?

Because it's warm and comfortable?

Maybe it's like the terrorist disguise from Raiden in MGS2. You didn't only need an enemy uniform, you also needed the correct weapon, an AKS-74U. Now in MGS1 they're also doing regular underwear checks, to see, if you're really one of them, so Meryl, of course, has to wear is underwear. But conidering that it's Johnnys underwear, it isn't very hygienic.

It's the most logical explanation I can come up with.

Anyway, while we're at it...I have one question about the PC version myself. Or should I say, about the PC version demo.

http://downloads.gamezone.com/demos/d1054.htm

The first encounter with Meryl, after Octopus's dead is very different in this demo. The cuts are different, the music is different and Snake doesn't point his gun at Meryl, he's actually grabbing Meryls Famas and pointing it at his chest, when he's saying "Can you shoot me, Rookie?". I can't remember, that this scene was like that, in the full PC version and it was definitly not like that, in the PSone version.
So, what's going on, by the time the PC demo was released, the PSone version was out for a long time, so all the cutscenes where already finished, tben why is this cutscene different, than in all the other versions?

You can see that scene in any version (PC/PSOne) of the game if you don't pick up the SOCOM in the truck on the Heliport.

I noticed a difference between MGS VR Missions for the PS and the VR Missions on the PC version.

When you go into photo mode to oggle the ladies:

PSX: You can see up Naiomi's skirt under the desk.
PC: There's a bar under the desk in the way of seeing up her skirt.
