Dude, there is no way you'll be able to do it in Japanese with no assistance of any kind. You won't be able to read the instructions Ed gives you, and you will definitely die more than once!seraphssavior wrote:I didn't mean it like that, I was using hyperbole to make a statement, but sometimes help is much better than going it alone, like in Level 19 of Devil May Cry 3, you know? I'm just throwing out suggestions. Yeah, on the Japanese version, I've got nothing but time, you know...

Ah, thanks for the recommedation. And while we're busy deviating from the topic, I've just eaten some Cheetos. My fingertips are now brigt orange. I'd get up to wash my hands, but I don't want to. Even as I type this, my keyboard is getting greasy from the Cheetos. I'm out of Pepsi. There's none left in the house. There isn't any orange juice in the fridge either, so I don't know what I'm going to drink. After I finish writing this, I think I'll watch a video on YouTube. It's the video they sent out when they converted the ShowBiz Pizzatime places to Chuck E. Cheese's. It's depressing. I've never even been to PizzaTime and it got me down.seraphssavior wrote:Good, game series, I'd definitly recommend it...very action oriented, not very story oriented, however...

Then why worry? I'm confident in my abilities, and if I lose, everyone wins! I don't need instructions on how to disarm a bomb...I'm in act one right now, and I just sat through the forensic guy's speech on the drug and leaf, in case anyone was wondering...
Life and Death hang in perfect balance...I'm only here to tip the scales.
No, this isn't an ordinary bomb disposal. It's a bomb disposal like only Kojima could create. They intentionally made it as difficult and confusing as possible. How will you know the order in which to unscrew the screws? If you get the order wrong the bomb explodes. You can only know the order from when Ed gives it to you (in Japanese, naturally).

Once, again, then why worry? I just want to help out, making sure no one missed anything. I feel lucky, and confident, I've been through hell in video games before, and Sonic, what the hell? I'm just tying it in with a great game, where the second-to-last boss battle is done as a team, and is amazing, because of it. I'm not trying to screw around.

About the bomb disposal... It probably isn't a good idea making a bet out of it because:
1. I wouldn't know if you're really using a mouse.
2. I wouldn't know if it was your first try.
3. I wouldn't know if you'd looked up a FAQ before.
You know what the Internet can be like. It's nothing personal, it's just that doing a binding agreement like that over the Internet isn't smart. But a friendly wager (based on honor) in the English version, that would be fun.
As for the proofreading, I prefer to serve as my own redactor because I believe a redactor should always be fluent in both the source and target languages. Then for any misspellings, grammar issues and awkward wording... That's what the beta testing process is all about, and we already know who's going to be helping out with that (a handful of people where we've all known each other for several years). But thank you for the offer.

Thanks for understanding.seraphssavior wrote:A'ight, then I'll wait for the English version, then it's on! And I do understand where you're coming from, so no worries...Is it o.k. to hand out the soundtrack stuff anyways? I'm sure people would like it.
As for the soundtracks, you'll have to ask Artemio.

Ah!Osiris wrote:I'll hazard a guess and say everyone will die at least once at that part. Everyone. It's one of the most tense sequences in any game I've played, and would be legendary outside Japan too (had it been localized 10 years ago). It's even more sadistic if you're using a mouse.
That's why Jonathan says that the bomb can only be "mouse deactivated" in the doujinshi? xD
Makes more sense now, I guess. Or maybe I did fuck up the translation, lol.
"I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on Hara-kiri Rock. I need scissors! 61!"
Oh, yeah, that was what I understood.Kaz wrote:It's more like "this bomb can only be defused using a mouse" but the idea is the same.
The thing is, I'm neither japanese or english/american, so I didn't knew how to write that very well ^^;
But it makes a lot of sense now! This doujinshi is very funny indeed xD Let's hope someone releases the rest, but only after the patch, since this has a lot of spoilers ;)

That's right, less than half the game's music is actually on the OST.Henry Spencer wrote:The soundtracks don't have every track of music do they? I mean, Tony Redwood's theme never pops up on any of them, there's more I know it, but that's one that stands out that didn't make it onto any of the soundtrack CDs.
We'll have translations on the website of all the doujinshis we can find, after the patch is out.ShinjiPG wrote:Let's hope someone releases the rest, but only after the patch, since this has a lot of spoilers
Thanks! You're really putting a lot into this project :OOsiris wrote:We'll have translations on the website of all the doujinshis we can find, after the patch is out.
I guess we'll be here to watch ^^b
