SolidSnake1MGS from http;//mgsaga.net was kind enough to take a pic of this for us from OPM #5, I'll look for a physical copy of the mag tonight.

What do you guys think? =)

Yeah, I knew they were doing it, since they asked me for a summary of the project, of which snippets can be found in the article. Thanks a lot for sharing. :) I'll need to see if I can find a copy here, otherwise I'll order it from the publisher.

Someone at TUS brought up the point of no one else being mentioned in the article. Here's how I replied:

"I layed out the nature of the project, who is involved, etc., in the piece I wrote for the magazine (which was several pages long and shown to everyone on the team for their approval before it was sent), but it was heavily edited for space, as you can see. I didn't know what was going to go in it and what would be left out. When they do review the patched game, I'll make sure they list everyone and what they did. I don't like it when this sort of thing happens either, as it gives the impression I'm trying to grab the spotlight, which I'm not. Our programmer, who has done an amazing amount of work to get us where we are, isn't even known by name right now, as he wants to remain anonymous for the time being. We want to give him the credit he's due, but he's asked us not to do so until later (if even at all). The part where I said, 'hefty rewriting of code, a time-consuming trial-and-error process'... That was referring to his work, not mine."

This 'anonymous' source sounds a bit 'Liquid Snake' from MGS2. ;)

I bet it's somebody all too close to home. But it's got me thinking anyway, who it could be.

I hope she gives us permission to give her the credit she's due after the patch is released.

Holy fucking shit. So the shit's really hitting the fans upstairs... For sure Kojima knows, there's no way he wouldn't now, i mean--
Man, I'm grabbing a copy tomorrow and pinning the damn article on my wall. This is awesome... Does it make you nervous any?

Not really. We knew these articles were coming (with more to come ). I'd rather try to promote the game and our project than keep a lid on it out of fear, which is what we were doing before. What's going to happen is going to happen. There's nothing we can really do about that kind of stuff.

Well this is very, i mean VERY impressive!
OPM is big, they even publish that mag here in Finland.

This whole Policenauts translation is coming to very big, unlike all those other translations that have been made fans.

Very nice :)

Well...itf is a Hideo Kojima game, so this is expected to me. Good news on the part of getting OPM interested though.
Spoiler:
And whatever happened to the Policenauts PTT Podcast by the way?

The TUS podcast interview is still scheduled to be recorded, though I'm not sure exactly when, since there's been a shake-up in the staff there recently.

Oh I see. I was wondering what happened to PTT Podcast, since I do listen to it everytime it's available, the hosts are good at it. Jim's a good guy as well.

Is it you, Alex or Art that'll do it?

Nice to see them taking information from my "Overlapping Kojima Games" topic. :D

Ought to update that sometime. I'm sure there's information that people have put there that I forgot to put on the main page.

Yup, it is a great topic.
I found much new info about Kojima games when i was reading the front page. I think someone should pin/sticky that thread. :)

I have Kabutore as a constant reminder of that fact. :(

Solidé- Very kind of you to suggest it should be stickied, but it's really Artemio's decision rather than mine. :)

How did Kabutore play anyway?

Oh, and the new Boktai game is out; possibly more references?

It's extremely confusing for someone with no knowledge of reading japanese. Most of the game revolves around what seems to be a computer program, where you can look up stocks or draw what seems to be an estimate of how shares will go. I can't understand much else on the "program".

You also get a character-based element, where people will talk to you. I can only assume that you are supposed to learn about movements in the stock-market from these sections.

There is also a board-game element. I have no idea what that's all about, but at least I can understand how to play that section of the game.

I've shown the game to a friend who knows a little japanese. He tried to figure it out, but it was far too complicated for him.

Anyway, Lunar Knights? I've been saving up recently, so I've been sticking to a one-game per-month allowance. I've not bought a game for April yet, but I'm unsure whether I should use it up on Lunar Knights. If Super Paper Mario gets an April PAL release, I'll get that instead.

About Kabutore: I see, sounds intriguing, actually. But I won't buy, not yet anyway.

As for Lunar Knights, it sounds good enough, from what I've read off various magazines and on the net. I won't be getting that either though; my birthday's coming up, so I'm picking games off I really want at the moment off my friends and family you see. Lunar Knights may get in there, but I can think of a lot more games I want more.

I'm tempted to write a topic with lots of photos or make a video about how confusing Kabutore is for an english-speaker. It'll probably take a while, but reading it will give you a full idea of what it's like to "play".

I've heard Lunar Knights is very good, too. I've never been a big fan of boktai though, and I'm unsure that the (admittedly large) gameplay tweaks are enough to make me buy it.

If you need any help with Kabutore I should be able to help.
