It's nothing much, but RE4 is coming to Wii soon, so I think this could happen, too.

More than likely, the webmaster(s) was(were) testing the system. Capcom's not the type to withhold a game announcement. A random addition in a dropdown menu's just simply not enough. Plus, considering Killer 7's sales numbers, I don't think Capcom would attempt porting the game anywhere else.

They posted a bulletin on the site saying that it was, indeed, an error on the webmasters behalf. No wii-make of Killer7 for now :(

I heard about this, this morning. After giving it some thought, I don't think it's entirely unlikely. Capcom still own the IP, and they're (obviously) fond of the idea of making Wii remakes, the controller seems perfect for the game, and No More Heroes (Suda51's new game) is one of the most highly-anticipated third-party games on the Wii, so Capcom might be a bit annoyed they aren't involved with it this time. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to compete by releasing a very similar game.

Maybe I'm just being optimistic, though? As you might be able to tell, I'm a very big killer7 fan, and I'd happily every different version, given the chance.

It's not going to happen. :( Well not yet, anyway.

I wish Capcom would stop porting games and just develop new ones. For example, i love Resident Evil 4, but i don't want to see anymore ports of it.

I agree completely. I miss the old days of Mega Man, when it was a new concept. It feels a lot like new ideas aren't working in the industry (Okami's a good example here), which explains why Developers aren't taking as many risks as they did back in the NES days.

That's just me, though.

To be quite honest, I have no problem with ports at all. It's remakes with new engines that annoy me. Ports are quick, cost effective and let new audiences play games that they would have missed if they had not been ported. Remakes can often break a game.

Despite a kind of cliffhanger ending, I wouldn't want to see a sequel to killer7. It wouldn't feel natural, and it certainly wouldn't seem necessary. I'd much rather see 100 direct ports of killer7 than get a sequel or a remake. Then again, I'm really happy that Goichi Suda's making new IPs.
