I remade the Pilot Disk for Nintendo DS. You need a DS flash cart, like an R4, M3 etc, but it also works in DS emulators like DeSmuME.

Here's a screenshot:

Hope you enjoy it!

I think he means that it's just the start of Snatcher, rather than a port of the PC Engine Pilot Disk.

Yeah sorry, I wasn't being clear. I mean that I made a DS version based on the Pilot Disk. That is to say, it's only a demo, which is the same length as the Pilot Disk, as 87th said :)

hmm.. i see.
So have you made it so that the artwork is in upper screen and options are in lower screen?

Great work man, I can't wait to test it.. but I can't find my card around.. it's been years since I last used it to code something myself.

I can't give an opinion on something I've yet to try, but so far I am glad you took to this project.

I believe that is the logical way.

Egad, that's intense work. I don't have a DS around, as my most available one is miles away from me.
.... But... lol.....
With something as intense as that... I'd forgive someone if they'd update the visuals. I can imagine it now.... -*_*-

Yes. I could have squeezed everything on the one screen, but that would put the other to waste.

Just like to say thanks. You did a great job!

Hopefully Konami will consider making a snatcher remake for the DS.

Here's a screenshot of it running from my DS:

Thanks for the comments, everyone.

I'm not going to do the full game, because I suspect that the game will be re-released on a current console - that Project "S" thing is far too suspicious... I just wanted to show that not only could it be done on DS, but it could be done pretty well - by professionals that is, not me :)

Wow. I leave for a month and when i come back, Snatcher is playable on the DS. Even though it is the pilot disk, that's hell of an achievement. Amazing work!

That's amazing. I just hope they do an official version, would work so well on DS.

Yeah, I just finished playing Hotel Dusk, and the DS would be the perfect system to re-release Snatcher on due to the setup for the dual screens. They could even have the voices without having problems with space since the game doesn't take much room anyway.

Thanks. I wanted to add a new line here and there just to make it a bit more interesting for people who've already played Snatcher.

By the way, how long did it take you to come up with this?

A couple of weeks. Basically played the Sega CD version over and over, copying the text, and sounds, and screen capturing the graphics. When I had everything, I played it and coded the DS version at the same time, alt-tabbing between the two to put everything in the right place.

Dang! You're better than me man. I can program a bit on the computer, but, as for handhelds, I JUST learned how to program a pong game for my psp. I don't have a ds, but I'm starting to think I should go pick one up.

I have a question, do I need to by an older version of the DS to play homebrew? I know that there are newer versions such as the "Red and Black DS" and the "DS Lite."

It doesn't matter if u have an old ds or a ds lite, but u do need a flash cart, a slot 1 cart is the easiest solution.
