Hi comrads!
Long time ago i found this... references, but only now i may post it here.

First image - Ryo Saeba (from City Hunter) and Johnathan Ingram.
Image
Yeah i know that there not too much similarity between them, but if you see the anime, you'll understand what i'm talking about.

Next image is a monocycles montage, i know there already wrote about it - here new one, UNO. :)
Image

Finally - most important (for me  ) reference to Snatcher. Found in a MGS4 trailer, where's Otacon speaks about cell processor in the end of video.
Image
....
Offtop.
Meryl from beginnig to the end of development MGS4

P.S. Sorry for my terrible  English. :^o

Thanks for that. I hadn't noticed a couple of those, so they've been added to my Overlapping Kojima games topic. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=781&p=7392

Welcome to JUNKER HQ, by the way. :)

I read City Hunter sometime before playing Policenauts. Obviously Kojima must've been a big fan of City Hunter since Jonathan is basically a space-age version of Ryo Saeba. Hideyuki Tanaka, the voice actor of Jonathan Ingram, actually plays a character named Hideyuki Makimura, who is Saeba's first sidekick in the series. He actually has several traits in common with Otacon.

On any other forum someone would have linked to the Street Fighter scene from the Jackie Chan film about a week ago.

I know this is a bit of topic, but what exactly is City Hunter about? I saw the manga around a while ago, but I didn't know whether or not it was going to be any good.

^Never read it, myself.

Remember that other character from City Hunter, too? The one who had the exact same pose as Meryl did?

I only saw the anime based on it (which is said to be inferior to the original material).
Basically (in the anime), Ryo Saeba is a kind of pervert "private detective / bodyguard / ...", always ready to help damsels-in-distress. He's assisted by his former partner's sister, Kaori, who'll hit him with a giant hammer if he's flirting too much with their clients.

It was a character from Crying Freeman.

I agree, I think that City Hunter was, some kind of, a source of inspiration for Kojima at creation of games..

Yes, there are the live-action movie based on City Hunter. In a one scene Jackie play's Chun Li role. Funny thing.

P.S. Sorry again for my English.

The chinese sense of humour can be a little overwhelming in it, but people might enjoy the fight scenes in the Live-Action film. You can't really judge the whole film on the infamous Street Fighter scene.

Did it ever come out in the US? Or do I need to watch it subbed on Youtube or something?

I can only assume it's been released in the US, since the version I saw had a fairly bad American dub.

Aren't all the dubs for foreign action flicks in America pretty lame? Anyway, thanks for the info, I guess I'll just go and rent the movie.
