Here is a little something I'm sure most people have, I got it in the mail the other day. Since I am off in college, my stuff gets mailed to my house. So I got someone to take a picture of it for me:

I've got both MGS and MGS2 Substance for PC. MGS is in mint condition and Substance is sealed. Copies of Substance are pretty common. Copies of MGS though are not so common. There are a few usually on eBay, not loads though. I saw one sealed a while back but it had a nasty stain on it that the seller had pointed out.

Do the konami pvc mgs2 figures series 2 (fatman, solidus, vamp, etc) come in the same type of packaging as the series 1 pictured? I think I've only seem them with the blind boxes.

Me to mate, I was wondering the same thing, I'd love to get the Substance figures in that packaging. I just don't trust them from ebay if they're out of packaging.

I don't get this. Do they come in blindboxes or those cases? I'm currently looking for MG-RAY. But i spot so many fake's at ebay, which makes me too scared to buy anything.

They seem to have come in both. From pictures I've seen it looks like the ones in the cases are of higher quality. If you want a Ray, get the one I have in the case it looks amazing.

But yeah, buying from China can be sketchy. Although Hong Kong is by far better than mainland China in regards to bootleg/counterfeit items, it still exists there as well.

Nothing special really, but they were really cheap and they do look awesome. The outside plastic wrap is only closed by tape, but the game inside you can tell is standard y-fold seal with "Playstation" embedded tear strip.

My goal to own all japanese MG games sealed is almost winding down. MGS2 premium, mgs3 headset edition and mgs3 subsistence are probably the only key ones I need. All the rest are PSone book or other sort of re-release. Whatever I can't buy via auction by xmas hopefully I can scoop up when I'm in Tokyo at the end of the year.

After some recent additions I actually almost have all the Metal Gear figures in sealed condition (if they came sealed) as well. The RAH figures don't come sealed. I only need the Raiden, the UDF figures (which are all still common to find), the cold war snake and bearbrick (mine are open) and the mgs 2 pvc series 2.

Once that's done I'm selling my entire collection and I'm going to collect Resident Evil instead.

:/

ok I'm not but I'd like to start RE collecting heh

Oh well, nothing much happened today except...
The dent is there but it REALLY doesn't bother me because other than that it really is a perfect item.

For those worried about the seal, it is simply a pull, nothing more, no damage to the box and the seal isn't broken in any way. And those light patches are exactly that, light reflections. The box has no wear whatsoever.

Usually I receive boxes where an edge like that is bent way out of shape, this is in immaculate condition considering its age and the distance it's travelled.

Ok I'll stop now!

Many thanks to Violent Snake for his kind advice and for helping me get hold of what is now probably my most prised posession. It's staying sealed no matter what and will be looked after with tender loving care! lol.

EDIT: Hey nice one Gixo, glad you like it mate. You're very welcome.

Very nice JT, it's my prized posession too. Who knows how many of these are left in that condition, and opportunities to get one will be few and far between. It's definately the centerpiece in ANY collection heh.

Now that you've used japanauctioncenter you should give us some info on what you think of the service in the yahoo japan thread. Packaging, shipping speed, the service in general, etc. I started using shoppingmalljapan for lower priced items.

Does anyone here know what it says in japanese in black above the "METAL GEAR SOLID" title on the front?

It reads:

メタルギアソリッド債 発行記念 or "Metal Gear Solid Stockholder Commemoration Edition"

The translation has been for years at my site =P
