Anybody here a fan of the King's Field series of games for the PS1/PS2? It's one of my favorite franchises. Huge 3D landscapes, fantasy/medieval themed, NPCs, elves, polygonal skeletons, all in 1st person! The games require a lot of patience and concentration as well as the will to explore vast areas. The stories are great too.

I remember the game, but I don't think I ever had the chance to play it, I'll have to download it and try it, looks like it could be promising.

Ooh, I remember owning the first one for PSX. When you first start out in the middle of nowhere and you're like "Okay, let's go.... this way", only to be greeted by a huge freakin` Kracken(sic?) that sends you deep-sea diving in one giant bitchslap.

Good times.

/The second one was good too.
//The rest kind of sucked balls.

They are 1st person RPGs, but the RPG aspects of them are minor. They are actually more adventure games really. The "first" one in America is actually the second one in Japan and so forth. I was extremely delighted and surprised when I found that out because I fucking love those games. I still have'nt played the one for PS2 (I'm pretty broke), but I hear its pretty good amongst fellow King's Fielders. They're those love 'em or hate em' type games with no middle ground; definitely not for everyone. And oh yeah James, that giant kraken is fucking bad-ass!
