Blade Runner Game
Blade Runner Game
Sorry if someone already made a topic on that in the past.
I just learned that there was a Blade Runner game. Has anyone played it, and is it good? I heard it was good.

PC, Point-n-click.
It is an excellent game for the movie. It has been discussed numerous time in the past, in several threads. So far it seems we all love it here.

Re: Blade Runner Game
I still have a copy, never finished it yet.....I'll get around to it someday LOL!
But from what I played it's a GREAT game, alot like "Snatcher" and the old-school "Sierra" point and click games!
I'd FULLY recomend finding a copy of the game if you are a "Snatcher" or "Blade runner" fan

Re: Blade Runner Game
I got it and installed it yesterday. Didn't play yet, just watched the cheesy intro and learned the controls. I hope it's as good as Snatcher, otherwise I don't think I'll be motivated to play.
Re: Blade Runner Game
Well I found the "picture scan" device to be VERY cool for searching for clues just like in the movie, and of course "Snatcher" is based heavily off of "Blade Runner", but I'm not shure how it all ends...since I haven't beaten it yet....but I was definatly interested in it...I just don't have the time to play it anymore.
Re: Blade Runner Game
the game is awsome, it has 7 different endings IIRC.
a friend of mine was a replicant (in his ending), i wasn't.

Re: Blade Runner Game
Uhmm, well, I got a problem with the game. I have to wait an extremely long time for targets to appear at the shooting range and there's a bomb at some point in the game which I can't survive. Those 2 problems are due to having a modern PC. I googled up the probelm and everyone said that I have to use programs like CPU Speed Adjuster or Turbo to slow down my PC, and I tried both, but even if I put it at the slowest, nothing changes. This pretty much means that I can't finish the game. Has anyone had this problem and found a good solution?
I have a Dual Processor, 2x 2.20GHZ
Also, I tried running the game with one processor using ForceCore, didn't do anything either.

Re: Blade Runner Game
Blade Runner for PC is a fantastic game. One of the greatest point + clicks ever. Even if you're not a fan of the movie you can still enjoy the game, that's how good it is in my opinion.
Re: Blade Runner Game
Oh well, finished it today, it is a good game indeed. It's so rare when a game based on a movie ends up being good. I guess this one's good 'cause they didn't copy the movie, they made their own story. Westwood sure knew how to make great games, what happened to them? Did they get absorbed by EA and lost their souls?

Re: Blade Runner Game
Which ending did you get? There's seven in total.
Re: Blade Runner Game
Well, I can't spoil the ending here, but let's just say that I did my Blade Runner job and eliminated all Replicants, and Crystal was with me just before the ending. Now I'm playing it again as a Replicant sympathizer, it's actually more fun, lol.Henry Spencer wrote:Which ending did you get? There's seven in total.

Re: Blade Runner Game
My ending was kinda cheesy (One of the rep symphatizer endings). While it was a good game, it kinda felt a bit lackiing in atmosphere. Maybe I shouldn't compare it too much to Snatcher, for that reason.

Re: Blade Runner Game
I love that game! And it also has some familiar locations from the movie, which I also love. There should be more cyberpunk games like this . And although I hate to admit it, but I never got to finish it. Lack of time or something. But what I played of it, I loved. I can only recommend it.

Re: Blade Runner Game
I was interested in this game when I first read about it. Sounds pretty good from what has been posted here, I'll probably have to get it now. Must admit though, I'm not much for multiple endings.

Re: Blade Runner Game
Does anyone know if there any difference between the CD version and the DVD one? I'm not wondering in terms of content, just in terms of image quality and stuff.
Re: Blade Runner Game
They are the same, but one is updated to be more compatible for newer systems. (that's what I heard anyway) Also, it's just cheaper for them to produce a single dvd than to burn 4 cds per game. The Spoony Hou wrote:Does anyone know if there any difference between the CD version and the DVD one? Are you sure? That sounds like The Longest Journey to me .JimboKudo wrote:They are the same, but one is updated to be more compatible for newer systems. (that's what I heard anyway) Also, it's just cheaper for them to produce a single dvd than to burn 4 cds per game.
Well, I have the CD version, but I remember some low quality compression on the backgrounds, and always wondered if the DVD version looked better.
Well, maybe I can acquire the DVD somewhere and make the comparison myself.
Re: Blade Runner Game
well this thread has definatly re-sparked my interest in this game, I just have to dig up my copy!
I got the game sometime last year after watching ALL 5 discs of that uber Blade Runner DVD box set.
So I figure what the hell? might as well give Blade Runner a much deserved play through.

Re: Blade Runner Game
Does the movie actually look good in Blu-Ray? I heard that some older movies like Star Wars episode 4 and things like that don't work too well. I was considering getting the dvd briefcase instead. (yeah, sorry about the off-topic question) As for the game, I'm probably gonna get it over the summer. Most of the gaming I do at college is multi-player, and I don't end up having much time left for adventure games and stuff.

Re: Blade Runner Game
It looks and sounds incredibly good. There are several persons that have been amazed at how much improvement it shows. There was too much detail in it, and Ridley is a very visual director. Here's my review at the time of release:

Re: Blade Runner Game
I agree. I havent seen it on blu ray, but I have the 5 disc set on HD DVD (dont worry, we only spent $150 on the player, and we have a PS3 as well. plus the HD DVD player upconverts regular DVDs better than anything else I've seen) and it looks great. I'd been waiting for the "final cut" of that film for a long time, and having it in HD was worth the wait.

Re: Blade Runner Game
The film is the exact same bitstream on both formats man, I checked it. So no need to get the BD to confirm it on your side.
