*VOTE* - Which MGS game had the best figures.

Please explain your vote.

I included MG 20th Anniversary figures in with MGS4 since they were all released within the same 6 month time frame and the 20th Ann. figures feature heavy MGS4 influence.

My vote goes to MGS3.

Why?

-The Squares Camo RAH Naked Snake is my favorite figure (and perhaps my favorite collectible).
-The Olive Drab Kubrick is the most sought after and valuable of all MGS Kubricks.
-Naked Snake is deadlier than Solid/Old Snake.
-Every figure has some sort of camouflage which I thought was very cool.
-The Squares Camo RAH Naked Snake is my favorite figure (so much so that I have to mention that twice).

The Zombie and Crocodile Camo Medicom figures are my favorites mainly because they were my first ever Medicom figures to purchase... I started collecting action figures with the MGS2 McFarlane release Olga and Fortune which is also my first ever purchase in E-bay.

I have yet to acquire the Olive Drab Naked Snake figure as they have been crazily expensive eversince. But I know I can get one in the future. One that I could actually afford...

I personally think MGS3 hands down, all the cool figures are there.

I'm partial to the MGS1 Series by McFarlane. Only because of the superb quality and range of characters. It hit every single main character, instead of only replicating a main few.

Look at the detail (I realize it's a high quality camera as well):

I appreciate Medicom giving us the MGS3 Big Boss with the black sneaking suit. But what I'd really die for is the MGS3 "Boss" figure with white suit...................WOW. And a young Ocelot figure too.

one of my favorite is the Crocodile MGS3 Figure, its so freakin cool! Even though I dont have it right now, it will go into my future "to buy" list.

the least favourite figure of mine in MGS3 is actually the Square Camo Zombie one... I dont know, he just doesnt look very snake-ish. looks kinda scary and weird.

kubricks wise... i have to say, my fav is probalby the MGS3 camo bear. its just so cute. and of course, the one with the crocodile is again pretty cool.

I think those were press release photos by McFarlane when the photos came out. I remember seeing them on McFarlane.com but it was a while ago. I think every figure had a photo like that except the variants.

Those are highly marked up. Watch e-bay. There are some carded "lots" on going now. A whole set usually goes less than $200.00 with shipping... I say, you hold off from buying from that store just yet...

Here are some...

less than 2 hrs to go...

Hope this helps...

Sorry to bring up an old post but as some of you may have guessed I've been on a picture hunt lately and I was just wondering if this was a complete set of McFarlane promo shots for the MGS figures. I love the pictures so I wanna keep local copies, if there are any more lying around on the web I'd like to see them! :)

Does anyone know if McFarlane did similar promo photo's for the MGS2 figures?

Like more of the shots that I posted? I'll check and see if I have anymore.

Damn, don't you just wish Todd McFarlane would sculpt some figures for MGS3 (if only for EVA and Boss?) and MGS4? Why stop there, it'd be awesome to see his interperetation of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, as well as MGS:PO, how cool would figures of Null and Python be!?!?!

Anybody know if communications broke down between Konami and McFarlane or something?

EDIT 2: Funny how we didn't get Vamp, Fatman and Stillman figures isn't it. Also a bit weird how McFarlane never gave Otacon a look in either!

LOL I actually sort of know the guy that did the deal on behalf of McFarlane with Kojima. I've never asked, but I think Medicom got the contract to make all the figures from mgs3 on and also I'm sure the MGS1/MGS2 sales figures were quite low. MGS2 seemed like only Series 1 was released and a series 2 was axed. It could've been:

Pliskin, Otacon, Vamp, Fatman, Soldier, Stillman...I donno...

I'll ask him sometime. He's the guy that sent me the MGS4 signed LE game and letter (the letter is addressed to him).

That's cool mate, tell him that we all love the RAH figures but tell him to sell the rights back to McFarlane for the smaller figures! The 20th anniversary batch were a let down! (Even though I have most of them! But that's only cos they were available to buy in shop to save me entering auctions later on!).

yeah, and what's the deal with skipping the small figures of MGS3 (and MGS4 really)? You'd have thought that having the rights would have caused Medicom to make the most of it, they dropped a ball there and missed out on a good opportunity.
