lol I was gonna ask the same thing! Sucks when that happens mate, just bad luck fella. Don't be too gutted. That's what I like about MGS, there's always a collectible that is obtainable. Nothing is impossible. Not even the "impossible to find" Raiden for a good example!

I was just *PLANNING* to bid on the MGS Promo preorder Soundtrack.
Its the white cover slip with the cd only, no jewel case, nothing. (the first promo item).
The thing is... it only went up to $13.00

Man that is gutting, I'd love that too and i'd feel the same way if I missed out. I always try to log in as soon as I know there's at least 10 minutes left and when I go back to it at a minute left, I open MyeBay in another tab just to make sure I'm still logged into the session, then I know I am safe to bid.
But hindsight is a good thing isn't it heh! Don't be too disheartened mate, it'll come around again. Patience is a virtue and you'll be rewarded for having it!

"Live by the snipe bid, die by the snipe bid"
I've had some instances where things have gone wrong, but I always know all I had to do is bid sooner. Usually on a major item I'll bid with 15 seconds left which is more than enough time for me to sign in as I have keyboard macros on my macbook with my login/pw

I actually was testing out the connection and everything, i even typed in all the values just to be ready...
and then the fact that it wouldnt confirm me down to 5 seconds is utterly horrible, esp after i did so much precaution. ahahha, its a war we face everyday.

Firefox has a plugin which allows your browser to remember/save your form field inputs too, so if you use FF, it may be a good idea to download the plugin for future use.

Actually, now that I looked at the auction again, you did bid on it. Quite a number of times. I don't think you would have reached the max bid though........sorry.

Hey TSi,
Sorry to hear about your misfortune with eBay. I too had an issue try to snipe an auction earlier today. Seems I can login and check my "My Ebay" from the browser on my cell phone, but when I tried to enter an bid on the auction I kept getting an "error with your bid". I had a little over a minute left to complete the bid and everytime try had the same outcome. Lucky it wasn't too import for me to have at the moment. Better luck next time.
