After all, anyone can forge a signature, and then put to "Signed by Hideo Kojima" ... How do I know whether the signature is real or fraud? :x

From looking at many pics of Koj signatures and the card that comes with the 20th anniversary box then that signature looks definitely fake. You can only tell if its real for certain if there is a picture of him signing the item or a certificate of authentication

In general a question like this is equivalent to "how can I fake a signature by Kojima", since giving up how to identify it the answer would also be the reply to the other query.

I wouldn't trust something he didn't sign for you himself. Otherwise you are just betting on collector's value if you think about it. It might be what you are after though, and that is ok.

i agree with that. i would of thought the only way you can tell that its real is by obtaining the signiture yourself.
even if a signiture looks fake to you it may not be, im sure when we all sign things our signiture is not always 100% the same evrytime, and a man like kojima signs many items for people when he does a signing so after a while it will detiriate in consistancy.

being a collector of kojima signed things, his signature isn't hard to fake so i take a bit of caution. however, i don't feel he is famous enough for people to start faking signatures, maybe now that MGS4 came out, but i like the fact he signs with a year, so you can see the context of when it was signed, and if it was feasible for him to sign the item at that time, etc.

i never understood why someone writing their name on something adds value to it.

a contract without a signature on it is just a piece of paper.

its because they're famous because of that product?

it doesn't add value to the item, it only adds it because people (collectors) make it seem like it does.

Look at my list from my website:

MSX Metal Gear (JPN) Complete SIGNED BY KOJIMA

PSX MGS Premium Package *SEALED* SIGNED BY KOJIMA, SKETCHED BY SHINKAWA - TWICE!

PS2 MGS2 Substance SIGNED BY KOJIMA

PS3 MGS4 LE SIGNED BY KOJIMA - REC'D DIRECT FROM KONAMI W/SIGNED LETTER

MGS4 Related Promotional Letter From Konami's Main Japan Office SIGNED BY KOJIMA

PS3 MGS4 SIGNED BY HAYTER+4 OTHERS, FROM BEST BUY CALIFORNIA LAUNCH

PS3 MGS4 SIGNED BY KOJIMA+KIKUCHI, FROM MGS4 NYC LAUNCH

MGS4 HMV Pre-Order Sleeve SIGNED BY KOJIMA+KIKUCHI+SHINKAWA 06-02-08 IN THE UK

MG Online Photo From the 2008 Germany Game Convention SIGNED BY KOJIMA

MGS4 Theater Style Poster SIGNED BY KOJIMA + SHINKAWA + KIKUCHI

http://liquidocelot.com/signed.html

All these items I have proof of signatures because:

- some items come with receipts proving the game was purchased at the time Kojima was there signing
- some items are sketched by Shinkawa, a signature can be forged, but drawing style is alot tougher to replicate
- some items only exist signed (like the MG Online photo)
- sellers are reputable, Castlevania4ever sells Neo Geo games worth more than a grand so I trust I won't be taken for $400
- some items have multiple signatures - forging one is one thing, but to do 3 distinct signatures and get them all perfect? no way

Honestly, it's enough for me to know they're legit. And if I sold any of the items, I'm sure buyers would trust me enough to have faith it's real. Of course, I've seen many items I've questioned, so I don't bid on them.

EDIT: illusion if you want to buy all these items please submit a high offer and they're yours
