What do you think of collector websites.
Not any of them in specific, I'd just like to know and don't feel the need to explain your answer.
Personally, I chose option 2. There's very few little information I seek, but I'm quite friendly with alot of other collectors and love to see what they've gotten and especially how they display their items. I think a year ago I would've said option 1, especially because I was hunting alot more items and was a regular to visit Artemio and Matt's (dchq) collections as reference. I do wish guys like bay and Mantis had sites because I'd love to check out their full collections.
I've considered expanding my site, and feedback from you guys may help point me in the right directions of what I need to change/add/expand specifically.
EDIT: No, it's not getting a Pig makeover

Re: What do you think of collector websites.
Like you said, I checked sites a LOT (mainly urs & mekomeko) but now, i check less because I have a lot more knowledge of each item than before. I mean, who wouldn't... esp after you look at vp's collection for sealed stuff, and mekomeko's for everything else. so for overall, I've picked 1.violentpig wrote:Not any of them in specific, I'd just like to know and don't feel the need to explain your answer.

expanding your site may mean a lot of different things, so it MIGHT be different. the thing about collector sites is that... only people who are interested will look. but too bad its not getting a pig makeover, i was hoping you'd do that.

BEHOLD!
GUNS OF THE PIGS!
(I'll make a better version, I promise)
About the poll, I like to see collections once in a while mostly for references if I ever have the bucks to get an item in particular. I also like reading the stories behind how the people got the respective items, btw.

I don't have my digital pen at the time, but as I said, I promise I will make a way more better version.
Re: What do you think of collector websites.
I'd say now & then to see people collections & how they are displayed. I'm a Star Wars fan & seeing some of the elite collections are like museums! they are incredible!

Re: What do you think of collector websites.
I don't seek much information anymore, but there are things I'd like to find out about but can never find the right information. So in that case, it's good to have points of reference. Particularly I've visited VS' site more than anyone elses.violentpig wrote:Not any of them in specific, I'd just like to know and don't feel the need to explain your answer.

+1 to Bay and Mantis sites! (Come on boys get your arses into gear!)
As for advice mate, you've got the information, and for me, that is key. It's already a good site. It'll come to you as you get more familiar with HTML and CSS.
I don't think any of the sites are going to be widely visited but I'm happy to keep updating mine cos it's fun and takes me out of my mundain job for 5 minutes.
I think I'll be happy when we have aeither a database or a wiki full of MG collectibles for reference for us all, that's a main aim for me at the moment, I'd do it myself but I really don't wanna reinvent the wheel when others are already set up.
