A shi**load of new MG stuff...

Post by Marc »

I originally posted this at Metal Gear Net forums (http://www.forumplanet.com/planetps2/me ... id=1575228), thought you guys'd like to see it...

-----

Here are some new toys for the harcore out there...

Image

This is the Extreme Box that's coming out March 29th. It includes:

-a 3 DVD version of the game with a shitload of stuff, such as: those "hardcore" runthroughs you can only see right now by getting the highest rank on Extreme; a reel of amusing footage (like you see at the end of trailers, etc); as well as a 4th DVD with audio commentary on the game.
-the Snake Kubrick with Croc Cap and weapons (made by Medicom Toys and otherwise not for sale)
-a booklet that discusses the MGS series
-and it all comes packaged in...a cardboard box. :)

Price: 9,621 yen

This is the Snake scale model that I saw when I met Kojima and Shinkawa, and can surely be found elsewhere in Japan and maybe the US and Europe right now.

Only 10 of these are for sale, for a nice 105,000 yen each. They were made abroad and come with paint supplies and a stand.

This is the Snake figure I'm sure many of you are familiar with. Goes on sale on the 9th for 17,640 yen.

This is the Bearbrick, a popular toy in Japan also made by Medicom Toys, painted with MGS3 camo colors. They sell for 9,120 yen each, and whichever one you get inside the box is random...

The second volume of the MGS2 figures... There are 10 in a box, but you may not get all of the 7 figures in the one box... Price is 6,090 yen.

...

...

I am Konami's bitch. *sigh*

What's the deal with the fibreglass Snake's face? He looks like a white Danny Glover.

I don't like how that first Snake looks ... maybe it is just the picture, But the "regular" one is "less frightening" =P

Thanks for the pics man, I hadn't seen any final ones in good size of the extreme box. It is good to finaly see it, and good to know that indeed that snake fig is comming in it.

For the size it is really impressive though. (It looks big)

Any speculation as to what's in the Extreme version? :)

Just to clarify, it's not a version of the game at all. It's a DVD walkthrough covering Extreme Mode (however, it does have audio commentaries from the game's staff in the fourth disc).

Because they are Kubricks. They are made by Medicom, which have a line called Kubricks, which simply put are like really cool lego men. Many different kubricks have been released, and the MGS kubricks are just one of many sets.
