Mirror's Edge PC Problem

Right, so I've got Mirror's Edge for PC. The game runs perfectly on my machine - however, there's always got to be a fucking problem with my games, hasn't there; can't buy/download anything perfect. :(

Moving right along. My problem is, that it won't go past the first chapter, "Flight". I finish the part where I am in the elevator after escaping the building you meet your sister in; the elevator doors closing on me and the SWAT team's bullets denting it. To put it short; it's right after the bit where you dodge gunfire after finding Pope dead and your sister begging for your help.

So, the elevator doors close in, you hear Merc talk over the comm to you for a bit, then it returns to the main menu. Only when I select "Continue Game", it starts right back at the part where you dodge gunfire after talking to your sister ALLL over again. I'm lost as to what to do now. Am I meant to beat some sort of time I don't know about to proceed with the story? Or is there some technical error I'm not aware of?

The game installed without a hitch (or so I think) and it has the 1.0.1 official EA patch that has recently come out.
So what's gone wrong with my copy? I'm open to all suggestions and discussion to owners of the game on PC, or people who have had a similar problem, whether they've bought or BitTorrented their copy.

Cheers guys.

first of all, disable physics if you got a Nvidia Graphic Card.

I played through Mirrors Edge, without patching on a ATI 2600 XT
My nephew couldnt play the level you also mentioned, he go stuck at the part where leave the building sliding down a diagonal roof.
After turning physics off, he could play a bit further.
Then he got stuck again, so he patched the game and re-activated the Physics and was able to play through the rest of the game.
He played on a 8800 GT or GTX.
All of this has been done on Windows XP

A proper crack for the patched exe is also available, if you got a real copy you shouldnt have any problems of all with that patch.
What are your PC Specs btw?

EDIT: Someone should learn to read!!!sorry about that!!
So forget the patching part because you´ve did it already, just turn out the physics and post your specs if you like :-D

Yes, that's the part I'm talking about! Where you slide down the diagonal roof! Still can't get past that bit because when you go "Continue Story" it loads back from the start of that part. Goddammit.

Thanks a lot man, I'll try turning PhysX off.

My PC Specs aren't that great; I'm playing it on the lesser of my two computers.

The Lesser:
*AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+, 2.41 GHZ
*2.00GB RAM
*Nvidia GeForce 8500GT
*OS: Windows XP Professional SP3

The Beast:
*Processor unknown
*4.00 GB RAM
*Nvidia 8800GTX
*OS: Dual-booting capabilities - Windows XP Professional SP3 and Windows Vista

Just looked at the settings. PhysX was already turned off. Tried turning it on and it still did jack shit. I'm not even going to try turning it off again and playing, as I will most likely get the same result. Any other ideas? Or should I just re-install?

And if that doesn't work, should I just re-fuckin'-download?

UPDATE: Downloaded appropriate crack and it now works. However, I've run into a completely new problem, again.

Now it doesn't autosave. And when you try to get it to save again, it crashes. Anything to do with saving, the game doesn't like anymore. You can't even save settings without the motherfucker crashing and exiting. Any ideas?

It turned out OK after all, I solved the problem later that night. It's a great game! Finished it in a day, though. I'm hankering for the unlockables.

Oh, and thanks again for your help man. :D

I just recently tested out my new PC with this game!

I was hooked on the demo for PS3, but I have to say the PC version on the highest settings with PhysX turned on is beautifull!

My card turned on the PhysX settings by default (I have a GeForce 9800GT OC V2), but it seemed to run better without it.
I beat the game in about a day, had a few problems with it crashing due to the PhysX settings, crashed about 4 times during the entire time i played.

All in all it was a great game, a little short...story was decent...It seems like they left it open for a sequel....wich wouldn't be a bad thing, But I kinda expected a little more from the plot.
