PSP Policenauts help

The patching process went very smoothly (once I figured out what the fuck I was doing), but when I try to run the patched EBOOT.PBP on my PSP it doesn't even play to the first Konami logo - just a dark screen. The unpatched version, however, plays fine.

I don't know what's wrong with the patched ISO/EBOOT or my PSP, but it's hindering my Policenauts enjoyment.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Mate make sure you use Popstation Gui 300 to convert the Eboot.

The earlier version of popstation does not work for some reason after you apply the patch it hangs on the konami logo and just keeps repeating this loop.

I have uploaded Popstation 300 but theres also a policenauts Icon, Background img and an Atrac3 encoded music file but you can just ignore them if you dont want to include them in your eboot. You will need Winrar to extract the file approx 1.3Mb download.

Yeah yeah, I got your custom EBOOT stuff, very well done; looks rather pro. I already am using PopstationGUI300, and it still produces the same result on my PSP, custom EBOOT crap or not.

I should probably give people more information about what hardware I've got set up

*PSP Slim 'n' Lite (PSP 2000)
*Custom firmware M33 3.71
*PopstationGUI300

Be a good idea to update your psp firmware i would recomend Custom Firmware 5.00 M33-6 Update its the latest m33 firmware and is meant to be more stable than the current 5.50 hacks. Might be nothing to do with that but its better to rule out the negatives......

Personally i think the problem lies with the creation of the patched Eboot try a different Eboot creator theres plenty out there also try not compressing the iso at all when converting it put the compression rate too 0.

Let me know how you get on

How do I change the compression rate?

Do you mean change the compression rate when patching the ISO, or changing the rate when converting from ISO to EBOOT?

Just tried 2 different EBOOT converters, Prawn - they still refuse to run on my PSP past the logo.

Apparently POPSloader has something to do with a lot of PSone games running on it.
I've tried installing it time and time again, but when I access the recovery menu it still doesn't show up in the Plugins tab.

What do I have to do to get this thing running???

Im using pops version 3.71
you change the pops version
by holding down R when starting
the game but you need
the different pop versions on your
memory stick you can download
them, just google it. Or look on
pspmod.com. And if you downloaded
your copy of Policenauts online
you might of gotten a shitty copy.

It just seems pretty strange that it works when you have it unpatched is all. Like i said i had the very same problem but changing to newer eboot creator worked. i am using the latest m33 though. Change the compression rate when creating the eboot it should be automatically set to 9 for maximum compression. Its a long shot but may be worth a try.

Do you know how to update your psp to a more recent firmware?

I'm having that same issue, where it just goes to a black screen after the ps1 logo. Any ideas? I have 5.00 m33-6 and I used Popstation v30 as well as just about every version of popsloader.
