Assassins Creed 2?

Who else is playing Assassins Creed 2 right now?
I have been playing the fuck out of Assassins Creed 2, and so far it is a pretty epic game! (I'm half-way through it)

The first game had some cool features, but got really boring and repetative fast.....
The sequel is a MAJOR improvement over the first game!

So if you were a fan of the first game, and have been feeling kinda iffy about buying the new one...
There's nothing to worry about...It's what the first game should have been and beyond...I'd %100 recommend the sequel!

You know, I've always been a bit confused about the hype around the sequel, especially considering the original title was a load of wasted potential. Repetitive missions, combat, story sequences that are boring. I just couldn't get myself immersed into it. It would have to be a vast improvement on the first to get me interested, so what has actually improved from the first game?

Just beat it two nights ago. Loved it. 10/10 for the story, 9/10 overall. This is an example of a rare occurance in gaming history where the developers of a game actually listen to the fans and fix what they ask to be fixed for the sequel.

At first I didn't really care as well, because I thought the first game could have been a lot better than it was...
But the sequel lives up to what the game should be!

I'll try to list out the improvements, but there are so many it's insane!

First off the game is more RPG-ish now...with a lot of variety all around...

You have to buy health and repair your armor through visiting Doctors and Blacksmiths.

You can steal money from people, or find treasure chests and complete missions for money (you can also throw money around to distract NPC's).
You can use that money to BUY new Armor (3 kinds), Weapons and Upgrades (added pouches to hold more health and throwing knifes etc.)
as well as MANY other things! (you can dye your outfit in a variety of themed colors depending on the city)

There are 22 Weapons in the game now, and you can take an enemies weapon as well as disarm him.
There are Swords, Axes, Maces, and Knife's ontop of your other weapons such as the "Hidden Blade" (wich now you can coat with Poison, and have one on each hand!) and Throwing Knifes. There is also a 6-shot arm pistol (like the hidden blade) and Smoke Bombs.

You get an entire Villa/Town to call "home" that you can Upgrade and Improve (wich allows you to collect money from it's income) if you have the cash.
There is also a day/night time cycle change that happens in real-time.

I can't even say how much variety in side quests there are....but plenty!
Improved AI all around, and you can now hire on a team of Fighters, Whores or Theives to help you fight or distract people.

You can swim now, drive boats and ride horses (as in the first game) as well as quick travel to certin spots in the cities/towns.

The story is insane with depth and detail, and so are the levels now (featuring many historic locations).
The game also pics up literally at the exact point the last game ended. And there's plenty to do once you beat the game!
You also get to do some fighting in the "Real world" as Desmond for the first time in this game!

I could go on and on man....since there are so many more features to mention...
They seriously overwelmed me with how much shit they improved, added, changed and did to this game!

They sure did! (I can't even list it all)

I just beat the game after a week of 6-8 hour long sessions a day, and I still have not completed all the side quests and all!
(good thing school ended, or it would have taken me 3 times as long to finish the game)

I was really impressed, and I can't wait for the Assassin's Creed 3!

Wasn’t the story in the first Assassins Creed about all religions don’t existed and it’s all just an illusion made by these magical Balls that are making people hallucinate? Because if the second game has anything to do with that then I don’t believe you

Well that's not really quite what the game is about...that is sorta like a part of the story...maybe you should play it again?
There's a few story lines going at once in the game, so it gets a little confusing.

Either way If the story was your main complaint then you probably won't like the second game.

If you liked the first game and just thought it fell short with gameplay and got repedative and boring to fast....
then the sequel is definatly for you!

The glowing balls are a conspiracy (that's what she said) and religions/leaders/historic events were all a cover-up. That's basically the story.

You should, because, no offense, your judgments doesn't mean jack shit unless you base it on your own experience playing the game.

Damn! ...a little harsh don't you think man?

Anyways,

I figured I'd use this thread to discuss some of the secrets or unlockable things from the game, as well as to post ways to get them.
I have found ALL of the "Treasures", Unlocked Altair's Armor, and obtained the last weapon to collect in the game.
(as well as completed the game, found all viewpoints, purchased every other weapon, painting, map and upgrade etc.)

If anyone is willing to help out or contribute...please do!

I have yet to :

Get ALL of the "Feathers" (55 of 100)
Complete ALL of the "Side-Quests" (?)
Unlock the last "Cape" under "Inventory/Outfits"

And I'm working on the "Hidden Symbols" (20 in ALL) that allow you to try and solve puzzels to unlock the "Truth" (I have solved maybe HALF of them).

Here are some things that might be usefull to know (?) :

If you go to "Practice" your fighting techniques (at your Villa) there are a few special moves that you can purchase that you won't learn through playing the story!
Such as the "Sweep Move", "Hard Strike", how to hit multiple targets at once with your "Throwing Knives", and i forget the others.

For anyone wondering where the last weapon to purchase in the game is/how to get it :

The weapon is a new hammer...
Once you collect and deposit around 50+ "Feathers" to the chest (in the Villa Mansion) you get to buy the last weapon in the game from the Villa Blacksmith.

No, no not really. Also, you can;t trust critics either. You have to have actually played it for a decent amount of time for your opinion to mean anything.

And thanks for the info on the unlockables.

Well I definately agree about having to play a game before making a call on it...

I'm working on figuring out how to earn the last unlock and I can't figure out some of the "Truth" puzzels since they require passwords etc. I'll keep this forum updated when I figure it out.

Well Assassins Creed 2 does look pretty awesome (game-play wise) but I don’t like the kind of pretenses story it has and it’s still $60 and I am really cheap

Yeah well, you don't have to believe in the story to play the game. And rent it form blockbuster if you don't want to pay $60.

No I don’t like renting games because I always have a late fee on them so think I might just wait for it to get around $30 or so and then maybe I will think about getting it

Yeah I usually rent first, because I'm cheap as well...well maybe not cheap...but broke a lot LOL!
I got the original "Creed" for like $30 at Blockbuster a year or 2 after it's release.
