I can't complete Snatcher - It's driving me nuts!!!!

Post by sad_muso »

Hi there, I am new to the site, having only just discovered the Sega CD emu version of the game late 2004. I think it's the greatest game of all time, but... I can't complete it. I can't get past those really hard robots near the end (those green ones). I have even tried downloading a patch that is supposed to make you invincible, but it didn't work (even with the correct version of Gens!) Can someone please help me, as I need to finish this game! Thanks!

Playing with keyboard or pad? If keyboard, switch to a pad.. it is way easier...

I've tried it with a pad too, but it's impossible! It's such a jut in difficulty, cos all the other gun scenes before were so easy! Those green things fly up towards the screen, then move to other block last minute! :S

In that case it is either practice or that someone who has a save game clos eto the ending sends you a save state just after them.... I am quite busy at the moment, If you are patient I can do it though I don't know when (a week period maybe).

that would be awesome if you could :) i've tried save states with Snatcher before- sometimes they seemed to corrupt (just with Mega CD games perhaps?) But if you think it'll work, that would be ace! :)

I tried it, passed the part.. though theer is a problem.. the save states sometimes work, sometimes don't.... no warranty they work for you.

Just as you said

thanks for the save state Snatcher, but both of them don't work- they just come up with a purple screen and stuck sound :S Is there a place I should be in the game before I load the state to maximise chance of success?

My recommended strategy for this fight: keep pounding the fire button and concentrate on aiming. Works every time for me.

I bought the gun to make scenes like this easier, but I ended up finding it easier with the pad.
Took me ages to get past the Insectors at the very end of the game, I just had to persevere.

Go mad with your hands. Do what Crowley said - don't stop hitting the fire button, and just concentrate on the aiming. If you're still stuck, get someone else to hit the fire button for you, and as long as you get the aiming right it should be easy.

Just keep at it. I ended up like an absolute madman, I was in the zone in such a way, I could barely see outside of those 9 squares.

I usually aim first, and as more Insectors come on, just start firing all over the place. It takes time, but if you keep trying, eventually you should beat them.

That part didn't seem to hard for me,
I gave it a couple of tries and I was done.
You should play it on the actual Sega CD
so you can use the gun, much easier in my opinion.

There's a trainer program for gens out there that my friend updated some time ago to catch up to the newest Gens, don't know if it'll still work :P (I don't know if that's the same one you're using, but you get invinciblity during the shooting sequences.)

Just an interesting observation :P

Try here: http://snatcher100.home.att.net/emu.html This is the site that hosted the original trainer, my friend downloaded it and hacked it to update it to the current version of Gens... I don't know if it'll still work or not, but its worth a shot.

i downloaded the vertsion for 2.0, and tried it with 2.0, but it still doesn't work :s How are you supposed to use it? Run the exe before you load Gens or something? I just can't get it to work :(
