Sounds interesting project. I'm looking forward to this.
Though i can't help you with any of those requests. But i think we have some skilled members here at JHQ forums who might help you.

Anyway, welcome to the forums Girian! :P

Thanks for the quick reply solide.
And as an update, I no longer need the XA Audio to the PlayStataion ver, I've ripped it with psxMC.
Also, do you know of any snatcher music that exists in other games, other than Policenauts? I'll include that on another bonus disc.
I did a similar BGM collection for Salamander not to long ago, but I havent release it because it needs to be revised, re-recorded, and re-edited.

There is two Snatcher tracks in MGS4 which you can listen with iPod in game. But i think they are exactly same as in original Snatcher game/soundtrack. Though i'm not 100% sure, they might be cut versions.

Yeah, those tracks are:
"Bio Hazard", Track 02 from "SCC Memorial Series Snatcher -Joint Disk-", and
"One Night in Neo Kobe City", Track 02 from "The Syber Punk Adventure Snatcher -Zoom Tracks-"
None of these are cut, though.
So, they aren't really new arangments like the "One Night in Neo Kobe City" remix from Policenauts.
Thanks again for the speedy reply.

I cannot be arsed to find the thread, but I have uploaded a nearly 100% bgm music collection for the Mega-CD version. If you need the files, you have my 'permission' to use them. I honestly don't mind if you do as they were for the community to use as they wish. Enjoy!

EDIT: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9VV85OUQ

I cannot replicate the results anymore but I will explain how I obtained this. In 2003, I had a copy of Snatcher I played on my parents VIZIO desktop via GENS emulator. During scenes that loaded a stage or had dialogue forthcoming (usually during the fade to black as the game loaded), I would eject the disc. The game would still play the full samples, but not any 'PCM' voice data as the disc was booted. However, the PCM samples in the music were loaded already, so the bgms played without any sound effects or dialogue. In effect, perfect recordings were to be had (even the factory kept the PCM samples, but didn't load the thunderstorm sfx!). I tried replicating this on the same VIZIO recently, but due to wiping the partition and doing a clean install of a different operating system, I couldn't. I suppose I had the perfect storm that year with that computer. With this knowledge, I hope someone can find a way to replicate this technique!

Thanks for your permission, and that's pretty interesting...
I probably will end up using your files, but a couple I'll have to rerecord.
I still need some other tracks like
"Theme of Tara", "Danger Dance...& Justice for All", and "Good Bye Harry"
The problem with the first two is that they lack PCM percussion and fade out the first time it loops! The problem with the third is that the YM2612 lowers the volume of the track during playback, and this happens both times its used!
Same thing with "Virtual Image", though I've fixed my recording with some editing in "Audacity".
I also have correct track names for your sound rip too: you can find them under the topic "Sega CD Muisc", or something like that.
Thanks for the reply.

On the topic of ripping the music, I've found out from some digging on "hcs64 forums" that the FM synth data is held in "FMWR.BIN" on the disc and the Sound Driver is loaded at the copyright scene in the boot sequence.
I've allways viewed logged formats like VGM sloppy, I mean there can be soo many problems with differnt games, especially those without a sound test. Its about time the Genesis got a riped format. If the PC-Engine version could have a Sound Test, why not the Sega CD version too!

Also for the time being, Im caling off the Saturn Version Soundtrack untill someone rips the BGM to SSF. The samples are all stored as ADPCM on the Disc, and the files that store them all begin with "BGM_(insert number).CAT"

Yeah, if your wondering how to use the sound test on the PC-Engine version, heres how its done:
1. Turn on PC-Engine Super CD
2. Hold (Up) on contoller No. 1 while holding (Down) on controller No. 2
3. Press the (RUN) button
4. Hold (Select) directly after perssing (RUN) while still holding (Up) & (Down) on controller No. 1 & 2 respectively.
5. The sound test should load instead of the game.

I'll provide a new topic on my idea on how to rip the music from the Sega Mega-CD version in the future. Im sorry i can't do much myself. I've recenty started on a similar project for Policenauts which is about a quarter of the way finished. Again, I'll provide a topic on the development in the Policenauts index.
