"Snatcher BGM Collection" Progress Report

Konnichiwa, JUNKER HQ.
Here's the main topic for the "Snatcher BGM Collection" fan Soundtrack.

Concept
This is my answer to the demand for a complete Snatcher Soudtrack for the various Versions of this game. You may think something like this is over-ruled by the various official soundtrack releases, but only one is actually an OST, the rest are just Arrange Albums. So as a way around this, I decided to try to compile all the music from every version of Snatcher, as nothing Snatcher related has been released since 1998, aside from SDATCHER.

Contents
I've decided to restructure this project as a series of seperate OSTs.
Original Sound of Snatcher
Konami SCC+ Collection ~Snatcher & SD Snatcher~
Snatcher CD-ROMantic Original Soundtrack
Snatcher for Sega Mega-CD Original Soundtrack
SNATCHER(PlayStation版)

Progress
(Unlisted OSTs are not yet started)
Don't worry everyone! I'm still working on it, slowly...
What? I've been doing alot of Metal Gear related stuff!

In all seriousness, I'm still working on it, but at a not regular pace.
Expect it to be out sometime in 2012!
----------
Original Sound of Snatcher - Complete
Snatcher CD-ROMantic Original Soundtrack - Complete
SNATCHER(PlayStation版) - Rough Edit Released

Requests (Project Help)
Of course I need some help with this project, if anyone's willing to help me.
Not that I'm lazy, I just can't get it by myself.
Snatcher - Sega CD - Rip of FM Synth Data and PCM Sample sequence
Snatcher - PlayStation - Re-Rip of Sequenced BGM with correct Loop Points
Snatcher - Sega Saturn - Rip of Sequenced BGM
If you need some info about .PSF and .SSF formats, check this site.

The Saturn Version soundtrack has been delayed because no one has ripped the BGM to SSF, and I can't do so myself. If anyone has .SSF files or is interested in creating them, please notify me so they can be included.
Im not just going to include an incomplete soundtrack.
Any help will be appriciated. :)

I have SSF and Snatcher...

The problem is that the 32-bit versions of Snatcher don't emulate correctly enough to play the game through.
You can't get past the "Abandoned Factory" or "Metal's Introduction" on the PSX and SS versions using ANY emulator etc.

How did you RIP the PSX music???

I could rip the music by playing it on my Saturn and recording it with my DVD-R...
Honestly though I don't really know when I'll have the time to do that for you since I'm pretty busy with my own Snatcher related projects and other stuff.

You can get the SFF music, cool!
I got the PSF set from the Zophar Domain. You can also find them quite easily on other PSF archives. Althoug the muisc I'm using is taken from LiquidPolicenutat's "Snatcher 32-Bit OST" and XA Audio I've ripped myself.
The main reason I'm requesting SFF rips is because I don't know Saturn assembly code and I've never seen any rips of Snatcher for the Saturn, so recording is my only option, but some of the music used in Act 3 only plays with voices over it.
Strangely enough, I've never expirienced any problems with these two versions while playing them on EPSXE and SFF emulators. Yeah I've been able to complete every version of Snatcher except for the PC-8801 version (Got stuck on the part where you have to type in "Queen" after the shower scene, I know I entered the right Hiragana but the game doesn't do anything!).
I'll take the sound whenever you get it done, I'm not in any big rush and I'll be sure to give you credit. :)
Just to clear up any misconception, I'm talking about Saturn Sound Format, not SFF the Saturn emulator, althoght I have both a Saturn and use SFF (Emulator).

Wait EPSXE and SFF now can FULLY emulate Snatcher??? I mean play it to the end...It has always played but freezes at the same point on both...
I've used ISO's and the real retail CDs on it with the same result on many different versions of those and other emus.

Sega Sound Format? What do you mean you can rip the audio without playing the games? explain and I can probably do it for you still lol!

Saturn Sound Format is a sequenced audio format like Capcom Q-sound. It uses samples played back in a programed sequence like an MIDI but with samples. It isn't acutually riped but logged sort of... What happens is that when a track is played back, you need to make a memory dump of the sequence of samples, hence you need to know Saturn assembly code. These files are edited later to give loop points, tags, fade times, etc.
The PS Version uses sequenced audio aswell.
Ive actually managed to find an archive full of SSFs and streams from Saturn games, but much to my chargrin, Snatcher was not included... Goddamit!
http://ssf.joshw.info/

After explaining all this to you I doubt you'd still be able to do it, but maybe Artemio would... What with his plathora of tecnical knowledge.

If you want to know more about SFF & PSF, I suggest browsing around this site.

Yes Snatcher can be fully emulated, aleast for me.
Ive used "ePSXe Ver 1.7.0" & "SFF 011 alpha Rev 5"
I've actually been replaying the PS1 Version lately and just got to Outer Heaven. So no problems here. It may just be an error in the way the emulator reads the disc. I use an ISO mounted to a virtual drive to play the Saturn Version, although I have an actual copy... which I play on my actual Saturn.

Hello GirianSeed573. I have not replied here since I have had little time to make any compromises.. I vaguely remember I have something, but for some reason I abandoned that project. Will let you know if I find anything in my archives.

I'll have to try emulating the 32-bit versions again then!

I tried for years up until last year...
Ah yeah I don't know enough programming yet to dive into that sorry ;(

I've restarted the project!
Hopefully this will give me better results than what I've got now.
Its all about the quality and the listening expirience.
Sorry again for the extreemly long development times.
Still, if you guys have any suggestions, go ahead and bring them up. I'm allways listening.

by best name ever
I think you’re asking in the wrong place.
Try asking around romhacking.net for help, you'll probably get better results

I will, but I don't need that particular aspect of the project done right now.
I just don't want to have to deal with so much at one time. (One at a time.)
Thanks for the tip, anyway! :)

I did already release it. I just bumped the thread by copying the contents of the last post, deleting it, and then reposing it along with the update text. It's to avoid what would be a triple post.

Also, the kanji (版) means "version".
