Konnichiwa, Junker HQ.
This is the release thread for my Self-Made Snatcher fan OSTs. Download to your heart's content! Enjoy!
If you expirience any problems, please report them. I will consider all forms of feedback.
More Soundtracks are on the way!
Concept
This is my answer to the demand for a complete Snatcher Soundtrack for the various Versions of this game. You may think something like this is over-ruled by the various official soundtrack releases, but only one is actually an OST, the rest are just Arrange Albums. So as a way around this, I decided to try to compile all the music from every version of Snatcher, as nothing Snatcher related has been released since 1998, aside from SDATCHER.
Contents
Original Sound of Snatcher
Konami SCC+ Collection ~Snatcher & SD Snatcher~
Snatcher CD-ROMantic Original Soundtrack
Snatcher for Sega Mega-CD Original Soundtrack
SNATCHER(PlayStation版)
Only three Soundtracks have been completed as of yet.
More will be added as soon as they are completed.

Thank you very much! I liked the PC-88 version a lot.
One of my favorite MSX tracks is 'Beyond Sorrows'. The PC-88 version isn't better.
The OST works perfect, I salute you.
Will get de PC-Engine version and compare 'B.S.'. And that's no BS.
Am looking forward to the Mega CD version, that was the first version of Snatcher I played.
Will you list the MG & MG 2: SS OST in this topic as well?

Nope. I'll probably make a different thread in "General Gaming" for my other OSTs.
...Aside from the Policenauts one, of course.
Thanks for the feedback anyway.
I was beginning to see tumbleweeds.

Allright, I'll watch that section, the MG 2 SS game sounds fantastic, I'm going to buy that game as soon as I can.
Your effort and work needs recognition, that's why I registered.
I read in another topic that you're an audio freak, which OST of Snatcher do you like the most?
My favorite so far is the MSX2 one (I also need to buy that game, but can't find it), I listened to them from the SCC Memorial series Snatcher and SD Snatcher, are those the official songs? Not rearranged etc.?

I like all of them equally, really. They each have their redeeming qualities.
And it's pretty hard for Konami to make bad music.
As for being an audio freak, yeah I do care about audio quality, but I'm really an amature.
I don't really deserve credit for the work, most of the methods I used were already set up for me.
I just took the initiative to do it and do it the way I think is right.
Yeah, the SCC Memeorial Series Snatcher -Joint Disk- is an official OST. It's the only OST really.
The only thing Konami did to the tracks is all some weird echo effect, which they did for nearly all of their chip music OSTs. (MSX/Famicom/etc.)
I like the echo for some reason, though.
The other Soundtracks just feature Arranged music.
Great arranged music, to be exact.

I really like the chip tunes from the MSX computer. Like I said ,I recently got one and was blown away by the incredible sound of SD Snatcher. Sent chills down my spine.
But now my mind boggles, the SCC joint disk songs are a little bit modified..?
Is ripping an OST from a MSX game difficult...? (Wait, i know a site where I can listen to the originals if I'm correct. Will come back with a comparison)

No, It's not hard. Especially for Konami, they have access to the original assets of the game!
But then again, I don't have an MSX, so I don't have too much room to talk.
The only modifacation is the echo effect. Which I believe they did for a more "full" sound.
Normally, it SCC music sounds flat to me. I don't know..
Like I said, Konami did this for nearly all of their chip muisc OSTs.
A notable example is the Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Soundtrack.

Wait, there's an official MG 2: SS OST? I already got a rip but that sounds even better!
Did you ever heard a 'real life' MSX? It's very raw and yet oh so clear if you catch my drift. Can't wait to hear Snatcher on my MSX.

Yeah there's an official OST.
http://vgmdb.net/album/750
It's missing the BGM from the Night Sight batttle, strangely.
No, I've never heard a real MSX/SCC Cart in person.
I wish I have, though.

I still need to play MG 2:SS, so I don't know that track. I'll check Youtube.
Where are you from? Where I live (The Netherlands) MSX computers are rather cheap.
I'm now listening to your PCE OST, so far it sounds really good! Will get back when I listened to all the songs.

I'm from the United States. MicroSoft cheated us for the IBM PC and DOS. Those bastards!

That's too bad. In these parts of the world you can get a MSX2 for $40. Really worth it to buy one through Ebay.

Wow, I'm now halfway through the first cd of your PCE OST, but is it me or does it
PS. Can you tell me how to quote someone correctly? I want to react on your quote directly but now it looks like it are your words. I'll mark my words in red, but that's an half-arsed solution.

Girian, I said it yesterday, will say it today, you're a legend. I salute you.
The 'Beyond Sorrows' track form the PCE with the Japanese vocals is simply put stunning! It's no MSX, but it comes close. (I take it that it's impossible to remove the vocals, just like the SCD version?) The emotions it is able to stir in me are overwhelming.
I finished listening to the first cd, it's really, really good. I'm now listening to the second cd.
What is your opion, which do you prefer, the PCE or SCD OST?
I own the PCE version but I guess that I now must pursue an actual PCE to play the game...

How did you like how i mixed the CD Audio into "Blow Up Tricycle"?
Kojima Hideo wrote:What is your opion, which do you prefer, the PCE or SCD OST?
I like some of each really. The Sega CD Remix of Eternal Promise when Harry is uh... ill is amazing.
"Endless Pursuer" sounds really freaky on Sega Mega-CD too.
Kojima Hideo wrote:I own the PCE version but I guess that I now must pursue an actual PCE to play the game...
I'd reccomend getting a TurboDuo. PCE CDs aren't region locked and the TurboDuo already has a System Card built in, if I recall correctly.
You can also buy adaptors to play Japanese PCE card games on the TurboGrafx16.

I'm now listening to track 2-13, which is coincidentally (again) Beyond Sorrows. Will get back to you when I listend to track 2-8 (2-7) again. I'm now listening to the complete second cd, when I'm done I'll listen how you mixed the CD Audio into Blow up Tricycle. I can say that the quality of the second cd is also SUPERB! JunkerHQ forum members, do yourself a favour and get Girian's OST's!

Will listen to those on YouTube to compare them, when I'm done with the second cd. I don't know why, but this first listen through I get the feeling that the PCE OST is better than the SCD OST. But I must say that a comparison comes a little bit early. I can fairly compare them when your SCD OST is out.

Thanks for the info, how much can I expect to be paying for a TurboDuo? Do you own one yourself?

It looks like from a quick ebay search TurboGrafx16s go for around $50~$100. Not sure about the CD ad-on.
TurboDuo's go for around $100~%250.

Allright, listened the complete second cd from your PCE Snatcher OST.
It's as good as the first cd, what a fantastic OST.
Will now listen again to blow up tricycle.

I fear that I'm repeating myself, but damn, what a fine job! If only I could understand Japanese...
Will now listen to the third (bonus) CD from the PCE OST. Am now listening to the interview, curious what they are saying... Do you know who are being interviewed?
Wich tracks are included on the bonus cd? A couple of tracks are present on the Snatcher Sound Clip I guess (e.g. One night in Neo Kobe City etc.)?

The Bonus Disc has the Data Warning, the Interview, and the Preview Tracks fron the Pilot Disk.
I'm not sure whos is in the interview, but I believe it is the Producer.
I may be wrong.

Well, just finished listening to the complete PCE OST.
What a great soundtrack, can't wait for the other versions to drop. Especially the SCD version, I hope you'll overcome the technical difficulties soon.
In the meantime, I'll listen to the MSX cd's for the gajillionth time. Oh, before I forget, what songs will you put on your SCC OST? The original MSX soundstracks or versions from the SCC Memorial Series?
