Getting too quiet around here.

What's your dream cast for a love action Snatcher film adaptation?

I don't really watch too many films, so I can't say.
Young Harrison Ford as Gillian could be fitting if he keeps a more upbeat attitude for the role than he did as Deckard.

To be honest I'd rather have a Snatcher Manga. I'd buy that stuff, even if it ends up raping my wallet.
A Policenauts Anime would also be pretty fucking sweet.

Why can't Snatcher AND Policenauts have an anime?
Robin Atkin Downes as Random Hajile?

I allways felt that Snatcher had more of a style leaning towards Manga.
Policenauts on the other hand has an atmospere that makes me think "anime."

I'd vote Sting for Ramdam, if he still had his Dune hairdo.

I'd much rather see a Snatcher anime than a live action movie. Really, when's the last time you saw a good live action movie based off of a video game, manga, or anime? Fist of the North Star, Dragon Ball, Super Mario Bros., Street Fighter, all horrible and the list goes on and on. Bad idea.

Well, one could argue that none of those IPs really had an emphasis on cimema like Snatcher or Policenauts.
Conversion of those games leads it to far from the source material, which is fine, but for some reason they feel the need to arbitrarily represent this source and it almost allways ends up misplaced and tacked-on. I think taking inspiration from the source IP and focusing in creating a good film should be the main focus, even if it ends up bearing no relation to the source, having a good product to represent the IP is better. Also, the majority of Game-to-Film Movies usually end up low-budget and thus they can only get shit directors anyway, and that's guaranteed to fuck everything up.

I'm not saying I'd like a Snatcher film -- if anything i'd be destroyed too, if the proper care is not taken.

I'd rather have unknown actors who fit the role nevertheless. I mean, casting an A-grade Hollywood actor will always be the actor playing a role, not a character within the movie. Like Schwarzenegger being Schwarzenegger and not the character. I'd definitely go for unknown actors, maybe even real fans of the game (so you could be pretty sure it's not another butchered movie related to a game like all those others) and a big budget. You couldn't realize Snatcher without a huge budget.
Or maybe an anime or even CGI animated movie would do the trick. Still better than something cheap looking.
However, i guess this will hardly happen. Honestly, there are WAY more popular games out there, still waiting for their movie. So why exactly Snatcher? Think about it, we haven't even seen a MGS movie, and Metal Gear is certainly more popular than Snatcher.
Also, i can hardly imagine a feature length movie about Snatcher. There'd be way too much information needed to fit into a 90-120 minute movie. Think about the ending. The endling alone was about 45 minutes long and EVERYTHING there needed to be there. There wasn't any insignificant parts one would have been able to cut out without hurting the whole outcome, leaving storyholes, cutting out important bits...
I guess the closest thing to a Snatcher movie would be a longplay of Ash's mod - which i wouldn't mind at all :)

^That's why I wan't a manga or an anime. Think about how many issues or episodes that would take up to include most of Snatcher / Policenauts.
But that's what this thread is about now is it? Yeah, I do have to agree Zombie. I think unknown actors would do a better job.
