Cyberpunk 2077
I'm jazzed about another Bladerunner influenced game coming to fruition soon.
Especially funny since the cops helmet looks like two Metal Gear MKII head stuck together. Coincedence or a knowing tribute to MKII's design?

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
I'm psyched for this game. Seeing the trailer for this made me want to replay Snatcher. And I just finished it. I think the goggles on that guy may very well be a Snatcher reference, just for the hell of it.
I love cyberpunk stuff. The only big release in the genre recently was that terribly overpriced CYPHER text adventure game with the awful writing and even worse parser.

I highly doubt it, since Metal Gear MKII's head is essentially a three lens camera.nickdaring wrote: Especially funny since the cops helmet looks like two Metal Gear MKII head stuck together. Coincedence or a knowing tribute to MKII's design?

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Could be a coincidence, but it's not that big of a stretch that a cyberpunk video game would pay homage in this small way to one of the most influential cyberpunk video games.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
A friend of mine just started working for the company making the game as a concept artist and I had him ask the guy who designed the cop's helmet if Snatcher was an influence.
It was not.
Only a weird coincidence.
To bad.

This is an upcoming role-playing video game. This game will be released on April 16, 2020. I am waiting for this exciting release.

Not a big fan of cyberpunk, but I heard it'd be a very good game. And from the creators of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt!

Re: Cyberpunk 2077
Unfortunately from the reviews I could read, it's more a fps than a rpg. No real deep storyline, somekind of a Deus Ex with a lot of shooting and very little investigation.
Soundtrack is mostly futuristic rap, very far from Kuheiha club style or even Vangelis'.
The issue with such a game, with high production costs, is it need to please a wide players base, to recoup the studio investment. Thus the final result of a game we can see. There's certainly less freedom of creation for developers nowadays than in the 90s.
I would humbly suggest Detroit from Quantic Dream as an alternative, the plot is lackluster compared to this studio previous masterpiece Heavy Rain, but it's still a more relevant pre-cyberpunk interactive adventure than CB2077.
Actually I'd like to see more interactive adventure games like Quantic Dream's ones, imagine what Snatcher, Blade Runner or Policenauts remade that way could belike.
