MGS3 European release

I am glad that all the people that still couldn't play the game or wouldn't like to play it imported, will finally be able to do so... And also all our friends who did play it, will be able to spot the differences and new features.

We'll try to keep the metal gear forums free from MGS3 stuff so it can be as spoiler free as possible for those who still can't get their hands on the game.

I still can't play it! Maybe that's because I don't have a PS2?

I'll try and put up a topic detailing the differences allongside photos when I complete the game. (I did this with ZOE- The Second Runner- Special Edition, already)

I was tempted to do this with the demo (you get the European Exclusive face paintss in that), but the screenshots of the face paints have already been shown, and all i'd have to add are some action shots with poor camera work.
The face paints work much the same as the other ones (they don't give you any special advantages, unlike the downloadable camo), and aren't all that interesting unless you're a patriotic European. I do like how they stay on during the cutscenes, though (I'll take a couple photos of them being used during cutscenes, when I get the full game).

Got the UK version, today. Been playing it since 1:30. :D Little stuck on The Fear, at the moment, so i'm giving it a couple hours rest.
I'll be sending Artemio some scans for the site, soon, but here's some photos of the UK version, for now-

I love the game. The puzzles are extremely inventive, and are starting to remind me of the first time I played MetalGear 2: Solid Snake.
Spoiler:
It's hard to take the X-Men-esque bosses seriously, but the boss fights I've been in so far have been fantastic (I loved the Ocelot Squad).
I wasn't very interested in the cutscenes at first, but now, they're really starting to appeal to me.
I think the Snake vs Monkey mode's great too (don't think I've played any European Exclusive levels, yet, though). The Radio call at the start was worth the £29 price of MGS3, alone.
Still finding it hard to get used to the reliance on menus, and I don't think there's all that much point in the Backpack system, to be honest, but it hasn't put me off.

Oh, and for anyone wondering how I got it a day early for £29- Gameplay.com is god.

Can anyone confirm how the Demo Theatre is like? Can you choose what cutscenes to watch or is it like MGS1? On the screenshots at the European MGS3 site, it looks you can choose cutscenes, which is cool.

I haven't unlocked it, yet, but I know about it, from the Intsruction manual.
You can select individual cutscenes, or you can group cutscenes together (like on a Windows Desktop) to watch them one after another. You can also select the Camouflage Snake wears during each Cut-Scene.

Sounds great. I want that!

I really hope a Substance version will be released with all these goodies and more, but somehow i doubt it. I don't want to have to buy the PAL version.

If such a version comes around, it probably won't be shown 'til either e3 or TGS. Wait 'til next year, to see if anything's been revealed, if not, you're probably best buying the European version (which is bound to be cheap by that time).

Should be able to do 'em tomorrow. I get the day off, then, and I gave up playing against The Boss, last night, but should beat her today.
It was 3:45AM and I had College the next day, so even if I managed to beat her, I wasn't gonna be able to pay attention to anything after that, or remember the ending.
I played the first of the two European Exclusive Snak vs Monkey levels, though. It takes place in the Shagohod's storage area, and there's 10 monkeys to find. The Shagohod is now shaped like an ape, and sounds an alert if you walk in front of it. :D

X-Menesque bosses are good... in X-Men.

I went a bit mad with this. Bought it Friday morning, started playing it that evening, and didn't really stop until I'd completed it on Sunday night. 28 hours overall.

My rank was 'shark'. Because I killed lots of people, and apparently sharks do that too.

I completed it yesterday evening. It would've been sooner, but I've been working a lot, recently. I'll get the photos, soon. I've got friends over at the moment.
Gonna have to play it again, though. Last time was kind of a race to complete it. This time i'll just relax and find the best things in the game from exploration.
