Konami have just announced that they are bringing their cell-phone gaming service to America, with cell-phone versions of some of their biggest hits.
Konami recently had huge success in Jaan with their Cell based ports of the original MSX2 MetalGear and MetalGear 2: Solid Snake games. The MetalGear series is very popular in America, so it seems only natural that Konami will probably release fully translated versions to the US. :D
Now I'm waiting for the official confirmation and the confirmation of a European release, too. :D

Haha, your enthusiasm is funny. It's a good sign, but I really wouldn't expect too much.

Have a beer. That's what I do when I'm bored. That's probably why I have the shakes though...

Already saw that site and I wouldn't sing victory yet either way. Cel-phone games aren't really that big over here and even if they do localize it, what are chances that my cel-phone services will provide it? Cause I'm certainly not switching companies or model for a lousy game.

I much rather they did a two-in-one GBA cart like the recent Goemon one.

I'd have to go out to do that (all out), and besides, alcohol just seems to hieghten my emotions, rather than make me purely happy (if I'm feeling happy and then I drink, i'll become really happy, if I'm feeling depressed and I drink, i'll become really depressed).

I am with you on this one... And besides, I plan on buying the "new" communicator (9500), I guess it won't work there =P

But, if they do, it'd be interesting for sure.

The main reason i'm excited is for official translations. It might add to the plot a bit, and make the games generally more interesting.
Oh, and playing an official release on something that isn't liable to break every time you use it would be nice, too.

Well that is certainly true.. But I am not sure about the translation. It is difficult to believe they'd assign the "correct" resources to it.

I hope they did though.

Why would they add anything to the plot that wasn't there? It's a translation, not a rewrite.

Well, unlike the Solid series, in MG1+2, if you tried radioing someone, they were rarely there. Maybe new dialogue has been added? Maybe they try explaining the weird abilities of characters like Running Man and Color Black? I mean, they've added new art to MetalGear 2 and a Boss Survival to MetalGear, so maybe there will be a couple more subtle changes in there, too?

Actually, they already made quite a few changes in phone version itself. As you can see, they changed a few character names and Fox no longer uses the Frank Hunter alias (at least from what I can tell from Gustava's bio, I guess it would've made Naomi's identity too obvious), yet they still say that Big Boss loss his right eye during the 80s. Go figure.

I only hope if anything is re-released I have the enjoyment of watching modern times and corperate reperations fuck things up as always. I think the Scatman says it better though,

"Who would try to change the seasons if they could? The state of the condition insults my intuitions, and it only makes me crazy and my heart like wood."

Hell, lets say the machine gun kid probly could have had 5 illegit cousins, and a dog named scruffy...Next on Mouri...
