Essentially, Kris Oprisko is continuing to make MetalGear comics after he's finished the series based on MGS.
I'm not too interested unless he wants to make comics about MG1+2, but I might pick this up all the same.

I've heard they were just edited MGS cut scenes.

They were, with some original art thrown in. Not enough though really.

Yeah, it's closer to simple merchandising than a new way to enjoy the series, but I thought I'd mention it all the same.

And it's not even screenshots from the original game. Just Twin Snakes screenshots, which makes them seem more like cheap cash-ins. I usually like Ashley Wood's cover illustrations, but his interiors really sucks. They look like childish scribbles most of the time.

Most of it just looks like a cheap photoshop effect over screenshots rather than new artwork.

Hasn't the MGS series finished, I thought it was only 12 issues long...?

Haven't you learned anything? The MGS series NEVER ENDS.

They should have thought a title along the lines of Final Fantasy. ^^

The saddest thing about that is that I was in a store the other day and saw Final Fantasy XII. I didn't even realise it was being made let alone having been released. My friend and I concurred that it just looked heartless. Bad thing really, but it's a long, involved discussion for another day =)

That series died way long before the time of acid washed jeans I can concur.

I'm looking forward to Metal Gear Solid XII too, I hear it'll be about this guy who has to infiltrate an enemy base, save a guy, then destroy their best weapon and take out the leader. There'll probably be a series of bosses throughout to encounter and defeat, gradually building up to the final battle. Then there's gonna be this fly acid-jazz-fusion ending theme. Gonna rock.

Don't forget all the unlockable survival modes, the retrospective look on Metal Gear Neo, and the info on how they created all the robot masters at the end of each level.

You think? I always thought they'd been sincere and true to the fans, but hey.

If they convert to Roman Numerals after four years of normal numbers, I'm going to stop buying their games.

What you mean?
They do what everyone else does they have a product that sells and they make more.
But I would agree with you if you were comparing Konami to Lucasarts (make Full Trhottle 2 you bastards).

Just got my MGS vol. 1-6 Graphic Novel, today. From what I've read, it doesn't add too much to the games, although there are a couple of edited scenes. It's also a bit Americanised (there's even a predictable reference to Edgar Allan Poe's- The Raven). The art style switches regularly from a blurry Twin Snakes, rendered-image, to a more Shinkawa style form of art-work. The Shinkawa style scenes look much better.
I'd only really recommend the book for MetalGear collector's. It's pretty cool, in parts, but far from essential.

Ooh, I might get this now. It seems the comic follows Snake's story rather than following Raiden's.
