I'll need to look for the ROM, again. Thanks, anyway, it's great to see how far you'll go for Snatcher, again.

I can't get this work for some reason it just keeps shooting me out to the menu, when I try to load any of the four disks.

Still cant get it to work, I have a couple of questions about the files
1. What bios do I need and where do i put it
2. Should the .dsk files be in a certain folder

Well, first of all, what menu are we talking about? Second, what version of the PSP Firmware do you have?
About the BIOS files, you need the standard ones for fMSX
ther files required by fMSX MS-DOS
===================================
The following files are required for correct operation but are not
included in the archive for copyright reasons:
MSX2.ROM MSX2 BIOS and BASIC code
MSX2EXT.ROM MSX2 ExtROM containing system extensions
MSX.ROM Standard MSX BIOS and BASIC code [optional]
MSX2P.ROM MSX2+ BIOS and BASIC code [optional]
MSX2PEXT.ROM MSX2+ ExtROM containing system extensions [optional]
DISK.ROM MSX DiskROM containing BDOS and DISK BASIC [optional]
RS232.ROM RS232 BIOS and BASIC extensions [optional]
FMPAC.ROM FM-PAC ROM extensions [optional]
PAINTER.ROM PAINTER ROM extensions [optional]
CMOS.ROM This file is created automatically and contains the non-
volatile memory used in MSX2 and MSX2+. This file gets
rewritten on exit if non-volatile memory was changed
Please, do not ask where you can get these files as I shan't answer
And the disks can be at any folder, from the emu's menu you can select what to boot into the MSX.

I am afraid I can't help you without the information. Are you able to run the original release though? Are the BIOS files in the BIOS subfolder?

hey, I just read about your fix at pspupdates! Good job Artemio. It was like..."Snatcher posted this. That would be cool if it was... (piano slam sound from Snatcher) it is him!"
Actually, I read the news at pspnews, which redirected me to pspupdates. If anybody is having trouble trying to get the download for pspupdates, go to:
psp-news.dcemu.co.uk
it is a little easier to find the files there.
Heheh, that was cool. Yeah, thanks a buch man. I'll try to lok into the troulbe that some people are having.

I got Snatcher to work fine. The only thing that is odd is some graphical things. There seem to be squares appearing on the screen. Has this happened to anybody else? Also, the game is a little slow changing sceens and similar stuff. But in time, the emulator should speed up.
Also, is there are specific button configure that anybody has set up yet? Has it made the game easier to navigate? I was thinking of mapping the number, space, and shift keys to the psp buttons to make it easier than surfing the keyboard. I just got to the factory in act 1 and I know that there is a shooting sceen coming up. I'm going to try my hand at it tomorrow.
About other peoples problems with it... what system do you have it set to? You might need to set it to MSX2 or something other...don't know. For Metal Gear, check what rom type you are using. I think it should be on Konami4 or Konami 5...again, not sure.

Hey there, good you had no trouble. Well, I do have those graphical bugs.. but they are present in fMSX in the Japanese version too. And about the speed, that is the MSX speed running the game, so not much can be done there but keeping the finger on the turbo button.

Regarding button settings, I have the space and 0 keys mapped, as well as the turbo... but not much can be done either... I am at the factory too, still have not entered the shooting either.

Just made an update that you might like... (added key configuration save profiles, 3 of them). Also, I updated the source with the fixes and improvements made in the 0.61+ release, so there are more graphic options.
It is should be available from the regular sources soon.

Great job snatcher!
One question. How do I save / load in SNATCHER, because I save the game with metal gear, putting disk 1 as it says, but then when I reboot the emulator, it doesn't shows a LOAD option. Am I doing something wrong? it's simply that fmsx doesn't supports that? Or maybe I'm missing something.
thx!

You simply should eb able to select continue in the main screen. It could be you are saving to a zipped image, in which case it probably doesn't work...

I got to the insector shooting scene at the factory... I got my ass handed to me.
But, luckily I saved just before the scene. I've set up the buttons like so:
0-X
1-left
2-down
3-right
4-L
5-up
6-R
7-square
8-triangle
9-circle
space-start
shift-select
menu-L and start
Keyboard-R and start
for the most part, that works great..for me. But I'm still having trouble with the shooting scene. I'll experiment more.

Oh, and I found something odd. Just after Metal and Gillian notice the poeple run past the door in the factory...just after doing all you can to Gibson's corpse... if you try to check stuff from Gibson again, Metal responds in Portugese.

Yes, I was saving to a zipped image 'Snatche060.zip', the english translated, but now I have tried with the unzipped 'snatche0.dsk' 'Snatche1.dsk' 'Snatche2.dsk' 'Snatche3.dsk' and I get the "Wrong Disk! Insert Disk 2 ..." error message after saving to the "disk 1". Of course, I change the disks in the menu when the game asks to...
Any idea?
Thanks!
edit: just tried in a msx emulator for the pc, and it works great. Then, I used the .dsk with the saved game, and psp fmsx loaded it ok, and now I can't save in slot 0 (it crashes) but I can in the other slots.

This is my first post and for starters I'd like to say that this is an awesome site. I just recently purchased a Sega CDX that just happened to come with Snatcher. I'm currently on act 2 and have fallen in love with this game.
That being said I'd also like to play the orginal versions on my PSP and I'm wondering what exact settings do I need to run the game? I can get the emulator to show up but I'm not sure what to place in the ROM (DOSII, ASC, etc) and disc fields? Any help would be appreciated.

Leave the roms untouched, in the settings select MSX2 and in Disk select the first floppy.
