Hey everyone, I'm finally back to the forums! I STILL haven't completed Snatcher yet, but today I got my real copy from Ebay and a Sega Mega CD, so I'm going to play through again and try and complete the game once and for all! There might be some new MIDI arrangements coming up soon too, watch this space!

I've just setup the console and game, but got a problem - the sound is distorted :s Tested other mega drive games and it seems to be the same case. All my other consoles, the sound works great. I've got a Mega Drive 2 and a Mega CD 2. Could it be the RF unit? That's the only thing I could think of. I need to sort this, I want nice clear Mega Drive sound!!!

What you mean distorted? Does it happen only with Mega CD games? or also with Mega Drive games?

i mean literally distorted - you know - all crunchy and horrible during the louder parts. it's with the Mega Drive AND Mega CD - but deffo not a fault of the TV, so the only thing I can imagine it is would be the RF unit, and I can't test it because Mega Drive 2 and Mega CD 2 don't have their own audio outputs :s Any ideas?

RF! wow... could be it.. indeed. If it is not the RF, it could be the Mega Drive.. but I doubt it. Try getting anoter one, or a SCART cable.

You know, these could be vaporware, but I've heard of there being availiable an RCA cable, which I love because the signals stay apart and can't screw each other up because they're mixed together. If you can track down one of those, it would be awesome, because of the great picture quality and unquestionably clear sound.
Also, did you know the sound from an RF adapter is always mono? Yeesh!

I had the cable for the Genesis way back in 1990. It had only one audio connection which was good for me at the time since my tv had only one mono audio connection.

Mono, huh? Well, it's still better than the disgusting video and audio quality that one only gets from a coaxial connection.

I also ran the a cable from the headphone jack to a receiver. It was great for those Yuzo Koshiro games.
