Okay, I've played Sons of Liberty twice now, yet I still haven't encountered Mei-Ling anywhere in the game. There's an actress credited for her, though, so am I missing something?

During the Tanker, call otacon several times in the save frequency. And I mean several times. You'll get her eventualy.

Thirteen times, I think.

Save once in each area I think. Then she will correct Otacon with his chinese proverbs.

Strange, I never got that. When is she supposed to say that?

It's nothing to do with areas, it's to do with the number of times you save - after a while Otacon runs out of proverbs.

The 'please enjoy' (an odd request I've always thought - is the 'please' really neccesary? You can't enjoy something purely as a favour, surely) woman is the voice at the start of the game, when your difficulty is decided based on how good an MGS gamer you are. Probably only in the European version. Why do you think it's the Mei Ling voice actor, Snake700, you mad anti-punctuationist? It sounds more like the one who does Rose, if not Rose herself.

Hm. I'll be sure to check out for this next time I play Sons of Liberty. Right now I'm replaying Snake Eater, overjoyed by the fact that I have most of the camoflague from my previous play and the Boss' la-li-lu-le-lo. Now I can finally kill those crocodiles!

Is the Mei Ling voice actress in Sons of Liberty the same from The Twin Snakes, though? I've read that they couldn't get the original actress to reprise the role from the PS1 MGS, and that apparently the old English voice was some unflattering Asian stereotype. If I keep calling Otacon will I be listening to the semi-Valley Girl version of Mei Ling or will I be listening to some awful South Parks style Chinese accent?

Edit: Oh, ha ha. I see that the people who keep this forum have a sense of humor. Whatever.

STOP BOLDING STUFF.

I think it was the Mei Ling from MGS1 - sounded like her at the time - but it's been a while. Is she in the credits?

I only bold titles. Is there a policy that people prefer them being italicized here?

Anyway, if it were up to me there would only be five bolded items up there, not six.

Raspberries.

I'm around 90% sure it's the MGS Mei Ling as opposed to the Twin Snakes one.
